my mother breeds them and sells them to family friends....half of the time she doesn't charge for them. She did not intend on breeding originally, she got a JR for christmas and then someone was getting rid of another JR. my mom had them for 2 weeks and bam, she was pregnant. she had no problem getting rid of them and they made beautiful puppies so she continued.

That is pathetic. I really hate when people say "getting rid" of an animal. Your mother is a fool.

If she rescued that JR it would have been spayed. She is adding to the already overburdened pet population because she is too lazy to spay and neuter her animals. She is a fool and you take after her if you can't see how wrong this is.

I didn't say it was a crime. I'm just of the belief that you should only breed and sell dogs if you are actually BETTERING the breed. You ever see how many Jack Russells are in rescues and shelters? Way too many.

Sorry, but I don't think you can use that argument to justify her breeding the "rescued" dog. What good did it do to rescue the dog if she's going to use it to add more and more dogs in to the world? And she's certainly not breeding to improve the breed if she's breeding the dogs that people "got rid of."
