 Not being one to normally see degrees of violation I would have to say doing 75 in a 65 on an interstate is HUGELY FREAKING DIFFERENT than 70 in a 30.

Now I will refrain from replying further because you will cry and twist your moronic BS and screwball denial about what you did, into me beong mean to you for no reason. But trust me if I hurt your feelings you numb-headed goober it was just an "accident" :huggy: :duh:

P.S. I think they should yank your license and let you ride a bus for a while until you understand what a privledge you lost.

No hurt feelings, I always take your statements aimed at me with a grain of salt.

I almost got 10 days in jail for 90 in a 55. Only 35 over....The first sentance was $1000, 10 days in jail and having my license suspended for 90 days

Where was this? A guy I know got caught doing 115 in a 55 and DUI in North Carolina and didn't get hit that hard (Lost his license for a year and about $500 fine).

NC is not known for being very hard on people. I had to pay over 100 for going 70 in a 55 (it just changed from 65 so he got me) but that was outside Charlotte. That was the first ticket I got in 7 years.

I admit I tend to drive faster on the highway (never over 75) but not in residental areas. I am always afraid a child, or car or animal will come out of no where.

I had to do 8 hrs C.S. in Charles for speeding. 1 point worked out to 8 hrs. I got to choose my C.S. and the days I could work. I did 4 hours over a two day period working at the Armory doing a Christmas shopping thing for families receiving assistance, all in all not a bad experience.

The judge will let you know how many hours you will need to do, so don't get you hopes set on just 8 hours.

Thanks - what was your speeding violation? I reread the ticket and it's a citation - not a ticket and said a court date will be mailed to me. I feel like such a criminal :frown: and I've been trying to adhere to the speedlimits as a result and yesterday I was driving in a residential area in PG doing about 10 or 20 mph and I looked up and a deer wsa directly running in front of me and another running at the left side of me - it looked like he jumped over the vehicle I was in - I just ducked and kept driving slowly. Once in the clear -- they were everywhere!!! I think they were spooked from a resident or something...I felt like I was underattack... but I was doing the speedlimit and didn't hit any

So Dems... did you get a court date yet...

No  I don't know what I'm supposed to do... do you think he just threw the citation away or something  I'd hate for there to be a warrant out for my arrest or anything.... these was 3 weeks ago - shouldn't I have received something in the mail yet  Should I have mailed it back requesting a court date or something  I could have sworn the officer said I would get a court date sent to me in the mail

You'll get a court date sooner or later. I did hear though that they were already adding on to the jail to make room for those that terrorize our roads. Don't forget to take your toothbrush with you when you go to court.

:frown: I was just catching up to the cars in front of me.... the week before all this I had to replace my fuel pump for $800.00 -- I should have just said I was testing out my fuel pump... :frown: Fuel pump works :blushing:

I would have thought I would have gotten my court date by now  Can he just throw the citation away... he said he had wanted to juts give me a warning and he would of because I have a clean driving record... but he just couldn't because of the speed he said I was going... I received a citation... maybe that's like a warning or something

When I was in college, my dad, who lived on average about 2 hours away, had a major heart attack and went into the ER.

I got the call at 2 am, and drove 100+ mph down the interstate and made in about an hour-10. The whole time, I was praying that I didn't get pulled over and that I would get to see my dad before he passed.

I didn't get pulled over and my dad didn't pass away... I've always been curious as to what a cop would have done had I been pulled over, and what sort of sentence a judge would have chosen had I been charged.

Oh great  NOW you come up with a good excuse for me

Where's Kizzy when you need her... I'm sure she can answer this for me.

BTW I think the cops would have given you an escort after verifying things.

 I've never known anyone who's been in the situation of being pulled over during a family emergency. I'm not sure what they would have done.

I would think that you would of been charged with reckless driving, endangerment, and all other associated charges. Doesn't make sense to allow you to get away with endangering everyone else on the highway just because you have a family emergency. :ohwell:

Keep dreaming up excuses, I am sure the judge is just waiting for the entire line of them that he has heard before. Best bet is to just say, "No excuse your Honor, I hadn't engaged my brain yet that day (or words to that effect like I wasn't thinking/paying attention)." And then beg for mercy.

Probably... if my dad had passed away that night because I was late getting there... I'd have never forgiven myself. He and I weren't on the best terms at the time.

Luckily ... you know the strangest thing... during that 2 hour trip, I don't recall seeing a single car in either direction. I remember thinking about that as I was praying on the way down... I was like... where are all the cars?

To this day, I say the man upstairs was lookin' out for me.
