I thought it was law in Maryland that each minor had to be covered under insurance?! If you haven't already tried Social Services, give them a ring or stop by.

Is it possible your daughter makes too much money to qualify for assistance? I wish I could offer additional help, but I wouldn't know where to turn to. :ohwell:

thats what social services told her she makes to much money for medical cards for the children but by all means there has to b something they can do to help untill her job offers her the insurance she has not been there long enough to get it from work and by all means its not her nor the childrens fault thier **father* can not supply the insurance he was cort ordered to do
P.S. we dont know where to turn either thats why i posted it and i do want to thank everyone for thier in input lets hope anyone else with this problem reads this

Of course not, but being a mother myself, it is MY responsibility to make sure my daughter is covered. What are we talking, a 30, 60, 90-day waiting period for insurance coverage?

You would think SS would point her to the HD, but if she delt with someone who doesn't give a rats azz about her job, it's very likely she got the brush off. I do believe that Maryland has safeguards in place to ensure minors get medical coverage.

Is the health department run by SS's? I can't believe that she was turned down medical coverage.
 The health department is under Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. Social Services is under Department of Human Resources.
