Why would anyone send you red over this thread
damn if I know.

sheesh I didn't set out for this to be a bi!tch session or to get run over with mean comments............

Ok so I admit, I shouldn't EVER try to pass more then one vehicle but I do and I did. and only in my car cause I know I can do it and leave everyone in the dust. I wasn't even that late. The ahole in the vehicle in FRONT OF MY HUSBAND was holding everyone up........

And Kizzy you are right. In some ways. I would feel horrible if a wreck had occured and someone got hurt other then myself.

so lets just calm down everyone and have a nice evening. As a matter of fact I think I do know the driver of the van personally from the st james pub.....

and POOH with all the red. Learn how to spell would you?????

I didn't think folks were being that mean... they can get a whole lot meaner... :huggy: so it was your husbands fault for not passing the slow vehicle in front... I always get irratated at the sucker behind the slow vehicle that makes no effort to tail gate or pass to let slow driver know he's being inconsiderate of others and perhaps pull over ... but that's just me :roflmao: Hope you have a better day tomorrow... :huggy:

Seems to me this was simply two wrongs that almost made a wreck. Being in a hurry because you are running late and trying to pass a train of vehicles is never a good idea. The person failing to observe you coming around them and forced you off the road is equally hazardous. Count your blessings, get up earlier in the mornings and just be careful.

but still... isn't it true that if you rear end someone generally it is your fault... they are directly in front of you versus the person in front does not see you unless having to look

No that is not true. If you pull out on a car which is in your blind spot, it's your fault. You're supposed to glance at you rear view mirror, your side mirror and then glance quickly out the side window to make sure nobody's there.

One courtesty I don't see here in the East is for the overtaking car to flish his/her brights to let the know the driver being passed to know the overtaking car is there. Grew up in the midwest where two-lane roads are the rule. You flash your brights (at night) when you approach a hill, you flash your bright when you pass a car in front of you, etc.

Not necessarily true. In Maryland the law is "Overtaken vehicle to give way to right.- Except when overtaking and passing on the right is permitted, the driver of an overtaken vehicle, on audible signal, shall give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle."

So instead of "flashing lights" it's "sound your horn" before passing.

LOL

Thanks Kwillia.......... Yes as a matter of fact years ago (26) when we drove Honda's and I got several speeding tickets. Now I don't worry about them cause my son's take care of the premiums for me! :blushing: (18 YO twins)

But seriously, I know I have a heavy foot, always have, always will. The car is just fun to drive.,,, doesn't make it right and I know it's wrong.... but I simply HATE slow pokes..... BTW my main vehicle is a Tahoe........ the car is my toy

 What's the big deal? Weren't the shoulders paved? Just slide over another lane, stay on the horn and gas. :yikes:

On mirrors/blind spots:
You don't need to see the side of your vehical in your side mirrors. If you can, adjust the mirrors out, you'll eliminate your "blind" spot.

I miss the acceleration I had with the turbo VW :bawl: Don't think I'll be passing anything besides a combine with my new truck.
