Is anyone getting tired of the almost daily accidents?

I don't mind people slowing for rain, but when they camp the left lane on 235 north up between Hollywood and Hughesville with flashers going and decide to try and cut me off if I pass on the right, that's a bit annoying. :)
Double-edge blade. Many, including myself, get into the left lane just past Outback, intending to turn left at the Bean Center. I do that way back there because the left lane traffic moves well over the speed limit, and if you don't take the opportunity to move left early, you have to fight your way in. The traffic light at Clarke's Landing bottles it up making it even harder to get left before the Bean center. Many of the drivers heading for the Bean center are elderly, so you can't expect them to drive like they're in a sports car dodging traffic.

After the Bean center, they should be in the right lane.

I get that. But when it's 5 miles, and you try and act like a cop blocking a pass, that's when it cries the line imo.

I put rocket launchers on our old Volkswagen thing, they shot estes mosquitoes. They blistered the paint a little bit.
One of my classmates in college was a chemistry major. He came up with epoxy based paintballs.

People keep getting by with that s#it, until they don't. They think they are privileged.
I witnessed the red light running in Charlotte Hall. Except it was late at night. And if was a "Horse and Buggy". Does the horse get the ticket or the Buggy operator? And how do you ticket him when the horse or the Buggy operator doesn't have a license
The investigation revealed a 2003 Chrysler 300, (operated by Jeffrey Glenn Burch, age 51 of Lexington Park), was traveling southbound on Point Lookout Road and drifted into the northbound travel portion of the roadway, striking a 2004 International Box Truck, (operated by Carlos Alberto Lebron Morales, age 35 of Lexington Park), in a head on collision.

So, how many times have we heard this? Is it starting to sound like Ground Hog Day to you too? Am I the only one getting tired of the accidents?

What really caught my attention is my insurance went up 40 bucks for every billing cycle. I asked why. USAA said it is because of accidents "in your area". WHAT? MY AREA? They said yep. Because of other people, not you, but other people getting in so many accidents in your area, your insurance is going up. I never heard of such a thing. A spotless record. No accidents, no tickets. It doesn't matter! It still goes up " because of OTHER people"!!!
I was glad to see the Sheriff's Office doing an outstanding job at St. Mary's College working radar throughout the 30 mph zone. It was needed quite a bit. Many folks have told me that people drive too fast through the College. I am sure the radar enforcement will make people think twice.

YES YES YES AND HELL YES. Irritates the hell out of me when they speed through that section and pass you in that section despite the double yellow lines or sit on your ass from the 40 to 30 zone. When concealed carry comes through, it ought to be a law that you can shoot to kill speeders, passers, and ass sitters.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Don't mention that in your interview. That statement alone could be grounds to deny that permit.

Half kidding and not even applying. It does irritate the hell out of me the way people disrespect the speed limit in that section though - don't even know why. I think because it's quiet through there and a pretty view - I wish people would chill and enjoy it for the mere minute they have to slow down.

Damn, must Have missed it. Live only a mile north of there and have been out with my latest fusion surgery. We went to Salt Sunday and there were not there. I've never been passed in that section though. And I don't recall any crashes there though.

I've already forgotten what day they were there. I've been passed in that section twice in the last two weeks always after midnight. The last time I saw the headlights way back and on my rear like seconds later. The not so funny thing is that once he got past me, I realized it was my twenty something ******* neighbor that drives a white Tesla or a white BMW or a black Tesla; he changes cars like some people change underwear. He was still sitting in the driveway when I got home playing his rap crap loud enough to rattle the windows.

If anyone needs to be shot for passing in SMC it's him.

Oh, I'm rarely heading out that late, and never to the south.

sorry, but they've always had to raise their overall rates due to claims. I agree with you, I cannot believe the amount of horrible accidents around here.
Another one today in to a tree. How many does it take until something is done to at least slow it down?

Yeah, always talk about sometimes fluffy has to die. Always teach my kids and advise anybody that will listen that you far better off hitting a deer than going off the road and running into a tree or a phone pole. This chain of events is just bizarre.

Until we demand that phone distraction be punished like DUI and carry the same social opprobrium. People Against Distracted Idiots, although the diving folks might fight us for PADI.
