Is it possible for gays to go to heaven?

Where in the nt does it say homosexuality is a sin? I can see sexual immorality being thrown in, but that also includes lust, adultery, prostitution, etc. Yet people aren't talking about how disgusting the victoria secret fashion show was last night. They sure as hell bring up every time states discuss gay marriage. Why aren't people talking about how wrong it is that stores are open on sunday? Blah blah blah.

Btw, how did judas die again?

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Yes, it may be considered amusing and funny but the story still mocked Christians who trust God to save them as not having the common sense of knowing when they were being rescued in an emergency situation whether by a raft, a rescue boat or helicopter.

Read most this single thread and see how you christians can't even agree with each other over definitions of sin and tell me again how mocking you people for not having common sense is wrong...

And I did not mean to mock, meant to show an example of the truth as I see it.

What does the Quran say about this?

Islamic theology allows Muslims to implement Sharia Law against such transgressors and we see this happening today. Sharia Law calls for:

1.) Stoning homosexuals and adulterers to death.

2.) Killing an unruly child and anyone who strays from the faith of Islam.

3.) Whipping a person for being caught drinking wine. Whipping them again the second time they are caught. Killing them the third time they are caught.

4.) Cutting off the hand of a thief.

5.) ....gee, this is sure sounding like what the old Mosaic Laws called for before Jesus established The New Covenant between God and mankind.

BTW: The four (4) capital punishments in Islam for major offenders are these:

1. Decapitation by the sword;

2. Stoning them to death;

3. Strangulation to death;

4. Burning them to death

:yikes: Sure sounds like Old Testament Orthodox Punishments - the ones that Christ did away with through The New Covenant between God and mankind.

Good catch, thanks. So is it only called out once in the NT? Outside of sexual immorality, of course.

Yes, as far as I can remember its only called out once. But it is there.
Of course you also have to consider that there was (to my knowledge) no word for homosexual in that time, but I think the wording in original was something like man laying with man.

as far as the sins from the OT, they are still sins, but we no longer are the ones to judge them. Jesus specifically made that clear.
Homosexuality is no greater sin than the others, the only unforgivable sin is to take the Lords Name in vain, or, denounce him totally.
But, this is somewhat of a conflict to me.
If for instance you, take the Lords name in vain, and you denounce him, yet next year you find Christ and accept him as your Saviour, you are saved by his own words.
So to answer the original question can gays go to heaven? Yes they can. Because if they cant because of being homosexuals, then Im going to hell with them or some of the things I have done/do.

And all of the atheists, evolutionists, Muslims, Pagans, and Indians agree among themselves? That is rich.

Funny, when Catholics claim the pope is infallible, people scream "no man can always be right." But when regular people disagree you complain about that too. Why are you so desperate to prove Christians wrong? Like sodomites you have some nagging feeling that you are wrong and you are trying with all your might to drown it out. give it up, you'll never believe yourself.

What difference does it make. Does Scripture have some verse that states things have to be in there twice to be true? Or is this a rule you invented?

Cheezgrits is only pointing out the obvious.

Read the thread....

Also.... had you read the entire thread... instead of going off half/cocked you would know that Cheezgrits is not a Catholic or a Protestant.... Cheezgrits is an American Indian.

I might point out that some people on this thread [you included] make remarks that are totally untrue, totally unfounded, or totally misinformed [i.e. the remark quoted here] and defend their ignorant remark to the end, no matter how insane it makes them look. It's as if those same people [you included] really do believe anything that they let pour out of their mouths.:killingme

If in debate of discussion someone with an opposing viewpoint makes a well organized, well researched, and reasonable stand.... they should receive recognition. Cheezgrits made an excellent observation.

I wish people who only claim to be Christians [those who have never asked Jesus to enter their lives] wore a sign so they could be easily identified and dismissed as a fraud.

Many people are complaining about those things. And as already stated, sodomy is a crime against nature. It is a disordered act. It is causing problems in every aspect of society.
Why does it have to be repeated in the NT(although it is). Saying it in the OT is enough. It is a natural law. Unlike disciplines, those laws don't change.

suicide.

"Saying it in the OT is enough. It is a natural law. Unlike disciplines, those laws don't change."

So we're back to saying the OT laws don't change? Keep that in mind next time you get your hair cut.

Oh, Judas killed himself? Can you be a bit more specific? Did he hang himself? Was this in a field he bought?

Oh, and who was Joseph's father again?

(For the others - I don't care that bible has contradictions. That neither proves nor disproves anything to me. I'm merely pointing out some of these contradictions since MD seems to think they don't exist.)

Most of the contradictions are not actually contradictions, they are either new ways to do things, like the stoning someone for being a ho in the OT but not stoning her in the NT. Not a contradiction, and not hypocritical for us not to stone her now, there were many changes that came along after the birth of Christ. The old testiment has become more of a history, and the New is the current way to live.

I'm good with that too. There are some contradictions that I have found or heard of (such as Joseph's father) that I haven't gotten a satisfactory answer to yet. But again, it doesn't even matter. The bible was written by god through men, who are flawed.

I'm just not a huge fan of organized religion in general. It's left a very sour taste in my mouth, mainly with how hypocritical the church is. Of course, it didn't help that my experience with organized religion was with the Roman Catholic church.

We could have a serious conversation on this one where we would both be on the same page. I actually walked out of a church and never returned due to the hypocrisy and better than you attitude that came out during an "issue" It actually caused me to step back and question things. But in the end I realized that the people involved at that church were the hypocrits and that what they did was not in accordance to Gods will or direction.
P.S.
None of the above issues were aimed in my direction,, well, at least not at first.
