It's time for an Amish Barn Raising

I actually have a number of Amish friends. I don't hate them. The question is whether or not they should be permanently ceded a piece of public property. For what it's worth, I agree with the US Supreme Court and think government should avoid significant entanglements with any specific religion (mine included).

So, does that mean the Town of North Beach has ceded 5th St to the farmers (including some Mennonites) who come to our Farmer's Market or the classic car guys and artists who set up on Bay Ave. at the same time?

That's just silly beyond belief.

Now insult me.

So, you just make things up to support your world view? Nice. Pretty clear I've won the debate. As for you're "country boys" when I was a drill sergeant...none of them ever bucked. Wonder why? Probably, because the one's that graduated from my platoon were stronger than you and didn't pee on themselves at the first sign of opposition. Frankly, you may have been a laundry and bath specialist or a cook but never fool yourself into thinking you were a soldier. Soldiers are stoic in the face of opposition..not cowardly racists. Soldiers are bigger than that. BTW- in the Army, we're drill sergeants not DI's (that's the Marines). Had you actually been a soldier, you would be well acquainted with that fact. I'm calling BS and demand your DD-214. One last though about your racist rant...it shows you are a freightened little inept man. Real men have bigger hearts and greater tolerance for others you refer to as "fagragheads." I don't think my opposition in this debate is a bunch of racists or homophobes, but you sure are the weak link on their side of the debate. Anybody want to step forward and support this cowards racist positions?

Is it hard living in a place that you hate everything and everyone ???

I have asked twice if whether or not they pay a fee to set up there. You have not answered me. Do you know? If they do, you have no argument. If they don't, send us information proving so one way or the other.

Haven't seen many cars driving down Rt. 6 without a driver.

Please, I want to understand what happened. The horse and buggy were coming down Route 6 without a driver or the horse and buggy was parked alongside Route 6 and not tied? I don't understand how it came off of Route 6 without a driver.

Me neither! All I know is what I saw. My kid and I were walking away from the first stand after buying flowers. We were midway across entrance (yes, we looked both ways first). Suddenly, a horse and carriage with no driver appeared at a full run east of 6. The horse slipped and fell as it turned into the lot about 40 feet from us. It immediatley got up and took off into the parking lot. I turned picked up my kid and got us between cars. An Amish guy very bravely jumped on the horse, grabbed the reins, and stopped the carriage. Does that clear it up?

No one has "ceded" any property to the Amish
Claiming that has happened is something a  person would say

So, the county allows the use of PUBLIC property for a religious group clearly identifiable by their dress and horses and buggies to vend goods in a practice without end. In other words, theoretically, it could go on forever. I say this because no one has told me what the plan is to prevent the extensive entaglement of the government. I will raise one solution---the Amish leave their horses and buggies at home, along with their dress, and they can vend there without me complaining forever? Deal? The presence of a nearly exclusively Amish Market shows a governmental favor to their religious community. If it doesn't their semi-permanent structures do. People keep saying I can there too. How does that work when they all have shanties occuppying the spaces consuming the whole area?

Good thing that none of drivel that is even relevant. Anyone can set up and sell produce there. You too. :howdy: I heard a couple Muslims are going to start selling goat cheese there.

On e question. Since their shanty's occupy all of the spaces, how does that work? Do we just move their stuff out of the way of our goats?

Awe. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings... You are like a delicate little flower. Where's my ray of sunshine. Come on buck up. I'll answer your question when my "Sunshine" wipe his tears away and puts his big boy pants back on.

Well? Since most of the spaces are occuppied by shanty's creating a defacto obstacle for others. I'm guessing there is a shanty removal fee?

You need to take a break. You've really lost it. You post stupidity and when you're called on it revert to dickheadedness.

You can't answer questions because you don't know what the #### you're talking about. Or, most of the time, you're wrong.

As I've mentioned, up until a few weeks ago you were fairly rational. What's happened?

So you're complaining about one group seemingly getting free use of county property and then you say you want to provide them with clothing that violates their religious beliefs and also provide individual transportation to and from their farms and haul their produce. How much is that going to cost?

You're really getting

Absolutely not, but thanks for trying to straw man me. The don't get to project their religious affiliation and I don't care how they get there. They can park the wagons around back. Oh---and they need to tear down the shantys.
