‘The Constitution Is Kind Of Trash’
Elie Mystal, justice correspondent for The Nation, claimed that the United States Constitution was “kind of trash” during a Friday segment of “The View” — earning a double take from regular host Joy Behar.
Mystal joined the ABC midday talk show to discuss his book, “Allow Me to Retort: A Black Guy’s Guide to the Constitution,” and he argued that the document was “certainly not sacred.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin gushed over Mystal’s book, reading several of the chapter titles aloud and raving about how much she had loved it.
“I loved this book so very much. The first chapter, ‘Canceling Trash People is Not a Constitutional Crisis.’ Chapter Nine, ‘The Taking of Black Land’ was another favorite of mine, and ‘Reverse Racism is Not a Thing.’ I just think it’s fantastic,” Hostin said.

“Trash?” Behar repeated, eyebrows raised.
“Trash. It was written by slavers and colonists and white people who were willing to make deals with slavers and colonists,” Mystal insisted. “They didn’t ask anybody that looked like me what they thought about the Constitution. … This was without the consent of black and brown people in this country, and without the consent of women. That was the starting point. The very least we can do is ignore what those slavers and colonists and misogynists thought and interpret the Constitution in a way that makes sense for our modern world.”
“Do you want to rewrite it?” Behar then asked, and Mystal said there were parts he would change.
“Popular election for the president, people vote, not land,” he said, arguing to end the Electoral College. “You can do it in a tweet, right? Term limits for Supreme Court Justices, and how about no states’ rights when it comes to health care, elections, policing, and guns? It’s just better. That’s just better, and you can do that in a tweet.”
Thank gawd everything that racist assclown is proposing requires amending the Constitution.
Joy Reid Is A Pile Of Garbage
The moronic host then concluded, "This is a teachable moment for us in the media. We aren't afraid to call out our own industry. There is a lot of soul-searching that we need to do in Western media about why some wars and lives seem to matter more than others."
There's a very simple reason what's happening in Ukraine matters more than what's happening in Yemen: one was invaded by a former super-power looking to regain that status through rebuilding its empire, and the other is a civil war in the third-world hell hole.
What's happening in Yemen is horrible, but it's being done to Yemenis to Yemenis. A foreign power has not invaded. Ukraine was invaded by Russia. That's a big difference because it involves national sovereignty.
Joy is too dumb or hopes her audience is to know the difference.

But Joy has a TV show, a show on which, presumably, she can cover whatever she wants. She complained about the media covering a missing white woman and not missing black women, then never covered missing black women. She complains about the media covering Ukraine over Yemen, then doesn't cover Yemen.
Maybe Joy is too busy having white-haired Fat Albert on to whine about how everything is racist to do what she claims desperately needs to be done? Or maybe she's just a horrible fraud of a person exploiting any and everything to make a quick buck? The truth is likely a combination of both. Joy Reid is proof MSNBC has zero standards.

On her show, Joy Reid recently accused Americans of ignoring wars featuring people of color, like the Yemen war, in favor of wars fought by whites and Christians. She said, and I quote, "The coverage of Ukraine has revealed a pretty radical disparity in how human Ukrainians look and feel to Western media compared to their browner and blacker counterparts."
Does anyone seriously think that Joy Reid covered the Yemen war in the past? I mean, it's been going on for years. And if Joy Reid has covered it, then where is the coverage? I haven't seen it, if any.
I bet she didn't cover it any serious way because she couldn't make it about race.
Just like so many others, race is her power, her substance. Race is a reductive force that bypasses human complexities for the overly simplistic values that we project onto skin colors. In asking us to ignore human complexities, race makes us liars out of us. And by imposing her views of race onto the Ukrainian-Russian war, Joy Reid attempted to make the war about herself, her views of race. And that is worth what?
That is why I've steadfastly refused to play the race card. Race is not my power. My intellect, and my ability to understand complex issues like the Ukrainian conflict, that's my power, not race.
Reid screeches at social media mentions asking her what a woman is
"The ReidOut" Blog, a subsection of Reid’s MSNBC show, singled out the question last week, claiming Republicans are the ones who can’t "accurately" define what a woman is.
Reid herself did not provide a definition for the word "woman" in her TikTok video but described it as "basic biological questions."
"I have given birth to not one, not two, but three full humans and raised them with the help of my husband. I am a mother, but I’m not your mother. If you need answers to basic biological questions, you need to Google it or ask your mama. Again, I’m a mother, but I’m not your mother. Stay out of my mentions. Be blessed," Reid said.
MSNBC's Joy Reid calls massive inflation a 'Russia-boosted crisis,' wants another large stimulus
Reid also ripped into Twitter founder Jack Dorsey on Monday after he went after the "system" and not a particular "party" for the latest inflation report, blaming the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine for the price spikes.
"Yes, yes, one party openly admits that inflation is going to rise," she wrote. "The other demagogues inflation by pretending the president personally caused it, not the pandemic plus a whole war in Europe; all so they can seize power while repeatedly undermining democracy. But ‘both sides’!"
While Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February has led to a rise in energy prices, inflation was already a major issue for Americans before it began. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki warned Monday of inflation being "extraordinary elevated" in the new report, "due to Putin's price hike."

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is determined to make the happiest place on Earth a living hell," she said.
"Baby MAGA is mad that Disney opposes his ‘Don’t Say Gay' bill, so, today, the Florida senate voted to revoke the privileges that have allowed Disney World to govern itself since the theme park opened its glittery doors."
Reid accused DeSantis of signing "anti-gay" and "anti-trans" legislation into law with the goal of "censor[ing] and punish[ing] educators" and "eras[ing] the existence of people's lives." She then alleged the governor is punishing Disney for objecting to the laws in subject.

"That said, did announcing the end of the mask mandate literally in the middle of the flight kind of let those a-holes win?" Reid asked her panel.
Flight attendant union leader Sara Nelson agreed, also condemning the pilots and attendants announcing the news in the middle of flights.
"It’s that in the middle of the flight, people took off with one set of rules and landed with another. And the crews, once again, on the front lines are left holding the bag to deal with this. So you had people on the plane who were immunocompromised, you had people on planes with little kids below the age of 5 who decided to fly only because the mask mandate was in place and that they couldn’t get their kids vaccinated," Nelson said.
She added "This is really not fair to put the flight crews in the middle of managing this on our planes when people are expecting one thing and getting something else and that has been the problem through this whole pandemic is that this has been about saying that the mask mandate or anything to do with this pandemic is political, rather than a public health issue."
MSNBC's Joy Reid calls photos of Black kids at DeSantis event as ‘child abuse’
On Friday, the "The Reidout" host retweeted a tweet from Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones attacking DeSantis for Black children being photographed during the signing of an anti-critical race theory bill. DeSantis signed the "Stop Woke" bill into law. While Jones referred to it as "indoctrination," Reid claimed it was "tantamount to child abuse."
Reid also reached out to her Twitter followers to investigate where the kids were from since "a trusted source" said they were "not Miami Urban League kids."
Author Chad Felix Greene called out Reid writing, "Notice she automatically assumes the young men were being exploited before knowing any details of the event."

Joy Reid trashes Musk, claims he is 'missing' old South Africa apartheid
Along with her guest Jason Johnson, "The ReidOut" host was trashing Musk while mocking conservatives as "outsiders to the culture" who were going to miss being able to bully "smart" liberals, leaving Twitter.
"First he came out and tweeted, ‘I hope my worst critics don't leave.' Yeah, buddy, because you know if the smart people and the people who criticize you leave, Twitter will have no value without the content that you get for free from intelligent people like Charles Blow and the attacks on people like Charles Blow from far right people who just enjoy attacking, particularly Black people on social media," Reid said.
New York Times columnist Charles Blow was one of many liberal media figures who threatened to leave the platform after Musk's takeover.
Her guest, MSNBC political contributor Jason Johnson, agreed that Musk's move would backfire for the right, because he said they want "to control Twitter" so they can be where the "cool people are."
"We all know Elon Musk wants to control Twitter. We know why the right wants to control Twitter. They don't want to go with their own club. They don't want to hang out at the honky-tonk. They want to go to the club where the cool people are. And so they know they can't go in unless they buy the entire block," Johnson said.

"Buckle up, buttercup, because today, Baby MAGA signed a bill that allows him to create his own private police force that is tasked with pursuing alleged election law violations," she stated.
"Just lovely, the big lie will now have its own battalion of goons. I wonder who they will go after first. I think you can guess," the host added, inferring that DeSantis would go after Black people.
Reid brought out Florida Democrat gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist to talk about DeSantis’ actions.
"He’s trying to out-Trump Trump and doing these kinds of things," said Crist. "He signed into law recently the most anti-abortion bill in Florida history. He’s gone after LGBTQ kids. I mean, African-Americans who want the right to vote openly and freely in the sunshine state, that’s been made more difficult by legislation that he has signed."
I thought she was being canned. That rumor must have been false.
