MSNBC’s Reid: Canada, Mexico Should Build Border Walls in Response to U.S. Mass Shootings

Reid said, “I’m sorry, but they will try that without any data because I just read this stat, and I’ll say it again. School shootings by country, you want to make it sound like the problem is the border, so the problem is coming over the border from Mexico? Good luck with that — 288 school shootings in the United States thus far this year, eight in Mexico, eight. We are scores of magnitude more dangerous on this side of the border than that one. Maybe Mexico should build a wall to keep the American mass shooters out because that would actually be more logical.”

Dowd said, “Joy, add Canada should build a wall. You know how many gun victims of gun violence in Canada last year? Nine hundred people were killed by gun violence in Canada last year, 30,000 in America.”

Reid concluded, “You know how many were killed in Canada in schools? Two. So it’s 228-2. Yeah, they should build a wall. They’d be safer. We are the ones who should be on the other side of the wall.”

Joy Reid accuses Republicans of thriving on 'demographic panic,' says GOP wants no one to feel 'safe'

Reid began her tirade of accusing the GOP of ramped up aversion by highlighting party members' discomfort with a more progressive society, arguing that their "anger" has "corroded into something more like hate."

Reid then accused the GOP of "openly flaunting the idea that, because they’re not happy in and don't feel affirmed by a more socially liberal, modern, multicultural and more secular America," that they say "no safe spaces" should exist.

The "ReidOut" host lambasted the party for allegedly thriving off "demographic panic," "rage" and "alienation," – potentially referencing recent controversy surrounding the "Great Replacement" theory – and for using this "dangerous combination" as fuel for justifying that Democrats "should feel afraid."

Reid called on talking points, including claims that Republicans promote laws and policies that "make" women carry pregnancies to term and that they do not consider or care about rape and/or incest in the process. She also cited Republicans' disdain for Critical Race Theory, their push for increased border protections and their frustrations with COVID-19 vaccine and masking mandates.

Kavanaugh threat: MSNBC’s Joy Reid, ABC’s Joy Behar pivot to attacking Mitch McConnell over gun control

Reid went first, addressing the Kavanaugh situation on "The ReidOut," with coverage of McConnell’s attacking House Democrats for not passing legislation to increase security for justices, which the Senate passed unanimously amid protests at justices' homes last month. Those protests followed the leak of a draft opinion that indicated the Supreme Court is likely to overturn Roe v. Wade.

"McConnell, today in response to the fact that a man showed up armed to Justice Kavanaugh’s house, which should not happen, let’s just be clear, no one should be threatened with gun violence, including Justice Kavanaugh," said Reid, who has been a voracious critic of him and other conservative justices.

"Here was Mitch McConnell’s response in the urgency he feels about protecting the precious, the Supreme Court majority which [is] the whole point, apparently, of his career, to have a right-wing majority. Here’s Mitch McConnell today," Reid said before airing footage of McConnell urging Democrats to pass a bill to increase judge protections.

'Outnumbered' hosts question Joy Reid's claim about Kamala Harris media coverage

"Outnumbered" co-host Kayleigh McEnany said Tuesday that the notion the media is treating Vice President Kamala Harris negatively is deflecting from the real issues Americans are facing.

"Apparently the problem, Joy Reid goes on to say, is that her personality is not being showcased as if we're all looking at high gas prices, high grocery store prices, formula shortages. And we're like, if only we had that vice president's personality," McEnany said.

MSNBC host Joy Reid sounded off over criticism of Harris in an interview over the weekend, saying she didn't get a fair shake because of the mostly "White, male" media.

In an interview with The Root, Reid claimed that the press didn't showcase the vice president's relatable "personality."

Vile MSNBC: Pro-Lifers Want to Control Women, Have Sex With Minors

Going further off the rails, Reid claimed "the problem is modernity. It's that modern women are harder to control. They go off and get their fancy college educations, then they want to compete with you in the workplace."

Johnson took the hate a step forward by claiming Walsh is "looking for a nice undereducated woman under the age of 18 to pop out my babies and listen to me talk about how smart I am."

He then smeared the entire pro-life movement by claiming "that's what these guys are about. We know that's what the women who support them are about."

Well, Joy has herself a conspiracy theory and it is a doozy. After multiple election cycles where polling radically undercounted Republican support, she would now like people to believe conservatives are cooking the books in polling, spending untold millions (polling ain’t cheap) to conduct bogus polls in the hope of skewing the average of polls on the 538 blog and Real Clear Politics. If that sounds not only very expensive but wildly elaborate that’s only because it is. (Watch her lay it out here, it’s very convoluted.)

Why do this? Reid seems to believe having the average of polls favoring Republicans will make Democrats stay home on election day. In other words: voter suppression.

Yes, that’s incredibly stupid. I did mention we’re dealing with Joy Reid here, right? Stupid is her currency.

MSNBC’s Reid: GOP Trying to Keep Thanksgiving ‘Simplistic Fairytale’ to Erase Genocide

Reid said, “We begin tonight with Thanksgiving, the day we gather with friends and family to enjoy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. We throw on the game and catch up on our lives and discuss or quite possibly argue about religion and politics. For millions of Americans, it’s a day of cherished tradition. As Americans, we value those traditions.”

She continued, “But it is also to unpack the myth of Thanksgiving. It is a holiday riddled with historical inaccuracies. It is built on this myth that the indigenous welcomed their colonizers with open arms and ears of corn. A simplistic fairytale interpretation of a 1621 encounter between indigenous tribes and English settlers that erases the genocide that followed. It’s the truth that Republicans want banned from our textbooks. Because here is the secret they want so desperately to keep, we are a country founded on violence. Our birth was violent. In 1619, a ship with more than 20 enslaved Africans landed in Virginia, ushering in two centuries of American slavery that left millions in chains or dead. When those humans in bondage were finally free, a terrorist organization that was a card-carrying member of polite society, The Ku Klux Klan, picked up where the Civil War ended using violence to maintain white supremacy.”

Reid added, “The Klan is still active, and as Americans, we continue to choose violence. We are a country that chooses violence over and over again. There is no facet of American society that is untouched by it.”

Well, let’s see. Marxist theory prescribes a violent revolution by one class (the proletariat) against another (the bourgeoisie). The Communist Manifesto, penned by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848, argued that the proletariat’s “ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.” In a newspaper article published the same year, Marx argued: “There is only one way in which the murderous death agonies of the old society and the bloody birth throes of the new society can be shortened, simplified and concentrated, and that way is revolutionary terror.” Now, if we do what Reid suggests — replacing “class” with “race” in the Marxist framework — what, precisely, would that look like? Would that qualify as a “bad thing”?

The first successful attempt to put Marxism into practice — Marxism-Leninism, named for the Bolshevik leader of the Russian Revolution — was carried out not just with violence along class-based lines (what would later be dubbed a “war of maneuver” by the Italian Marxist theorist Antonio Gramsci), but also via the subsequent establishment of a “dictatorship” of one class over the rest of society. Again, let’s replace class with race in this scenario. I’ll leave it up to Reid to determine if that might be a “bad thing.”
