Ahhh, looks like the YZF600 crowd is arriving on the 22nd or 23rd and leaving on the 25th or 26th. I'll have to go some time. I hear it's the most popular motorcycle destination with something like 315 turns over 11 miles.

With the heat that has hit us the past couple of weeks, I wonder if it was the tar snakes that got him. The Dragon has lots of those.

BULLETIN: A 39 year old motorcycle rider from Maryland lost his life on the Dragon Thursday morning June 15. The accident occurred at about mile marker 3.5 when the northbound rider went off the road and struck a tree. This is the first death on the Dragon in 2006. Please ride safe so it is the only one this year

If I can hijack this thread.....I need a new pair of riding gloves. The ones I've had for years have worn through the palms (they were really driving gloves, but I liked them) I'm not gonna pay $50 for a Harley bar and shield on the cuff even if they have a pair I like. I picked up a pair at True Value in Leonardtown the other day but am still looking. Any suggestions? TIA

Aerostich has excellant gloves, but pricey. Also use the deerskin work gloves from Lowes.

You get what you pay for. I have two pairs of HD gloves that I have had for years and they are both still in good shape, and very comfy. I've got a pair of the lined deerskin gauntlets and elk skin ropers from aerostich. BIG difference between how they feel and the cheapies from Lowes. Some (most?) of their gloves come with a little strip of silicone rubber sticking out of the side seam on the left hand index finger.

if you have your shield down, you won't poke your eye out with it. It's used as a wiper for the face shield or glasses (limited usage there).

I'm not going to comment any further. I have NO idea where your mind is at this point in the day.
