I've brought this up several times, and people are reluctant to really discuss it. It will be interesting.
It's not reluctance - it's just that nobody has any idea. When Bush ran in the primaries, I never in a million years thought of Rice, Powell, Rumsfeld or Cheney. Well, maybe Powell. But you could have asked, who will Bush pick for VP and I'd have tossed out names all day long without thinking of Dick Cheney.

Then, for an encore, they had a segment about "Do the Republicans have the lock on moral values" and guess who they had debating it? Jerry Fallwell and.....
Falwell. What a joke. Growing up an hour or so from his beloved Liberty University, he was always the focus of the religous groups there. A little radical actually. Christians, athiests, muslims all were laughing under our breath when the "gay sex scandal" took place at his school. I don't even know what ever came of it, and don't really care. I just remember the response when it hit the news. It was something like this...
"hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha :lmao: :moon: bahahahahahahahahahahah"

All I have heard is that she doesn't want to keep her current position. The rumors I have heard say she is going to take Powell's spot.

But I heard that Powell has reconsidered his position and let Bush know this and he will remain... that was an old rumor -- today I heard instead she'll take Rumsfield position :jet:

Maybe Powell is a democrat, because that would be one heck of a flip-flop!

It offered the biggest kick back $$$ and his plan.... *cough* *cough* involved halib *cough* urt *cough* on  and it involved invading Iraq. What I want to know now that I'm stuck with Bush another 4 years, what is Bush's exit plan over there? I want to know because as a dem, we lost and lost big, but if you continue to look behind you all the time you miss the train coming right at you -- so I've moved on and wondering what the options are... condi v. rummy? exit plan? social security?

One of the attorneys at my first thinks Powell's spot should go to Kerry.

Just wondering - what do you think Bush's cabinet changes will be? I heard on the radio that Rummy is out and Condi will be taking his place -- I'm sorry but I just don't think she is qualified... I'd prefer Rummy any day -- I actually liked him -- yes another republican I actually like (that makes 3 of them). What do you think about this decision

I have not heard that. And you can't swap Condi for Rumsfeld. Two different animals. I could see Condi moving to Sec. of State, if Powell leaves. Or even Rumsfeld moving there. But Condi as SECDEF, not really. National Security is not always lock-step with leading the DoD. DUR

Re-reading my post just reminded me of the fact that most Americans don't even realize what the goddamn positions mean. Come on! This is the Executive Branch; you just don't go shuffling people around because they are part of the crew, like moving a halfback to fullback because he can't catch a damn ball. Jeesh.

If any changes happen, Condi will go to Secretary of State, but only if Powell retires. Rumsfeld will stick with SECDEF, because that's his world. He is qualified to move over to National Security Advisor, but I wouldn't place much credence on ANY changes happening, unless someone retires. But Condi as SECDEF? Doubtful. Not her background or expertise.

Dear Dems,

The war is over. The Republicans won - not merely the Presidency, but the House, Senate and they picked up a few Governorships as well.

Get over it or drink your Kool Aid quietly.

What's annoying is that CNN is blaming the Bush win on evangelical Christians - like there are enough of those in the US to get a President elected. They're going on and on - "evangelicals this" "evangelicals that". Like nobody voted for Bush but hardcore religious folks.

Then, for an encore, they had a segment about "Do the Republicans have the lock on moral values" and guess who they had debating it? Jerry Fallwell and.....

....Jesse Jackson! :roflmao: I kept waiting for Fallwell to ask Jesse how his mistress and illegitimate daughter were doing but he didn't.

Now Begala is on saying that the American people don't like "intellectualism", which is why they went for Bush over Kerry.

How much more out of touch could a news network be???

I know what you mean, but calling CNN a news network is like calling Dan Rather a reporter.

I was thinking Zell Miller could be a good SECDEF, but he's retiring and I don't think he'd come back for the position.

Watching CNN's panel making excuses for losing made me realize just how far out of touch these people are. They have a very narrow definition of morality that is restricted to abortion and Gay marriage. There is much more to morals than that and CNN, CBS (Dan), New England politicians and tort lawyers think they are exempt. I was hoping we could all just make a clean start, put Michael Moore out with the rest of the trash and start all over but too many of them won't let it go. Bradlee's (Wash. Post) interview was especially irritating when you know this man's opinion is going to be filtered into much of what comes out of the Post. Sore loser.
