kids+boats=trouble

Nahh. I've been on the water and around boats all my life. As long as the parents use common senses (Well, I guess this could be a problem for right many), kidos will be fine.

I would be concerned with shock on an infant's neck, similar to shaken baby syndrome. Probably best to remain circumspect wrt sea state and avoid any chop until the neck muscles are sufficiently developed.

The following question has been on my mind for a little bit now, so I must ask it.

exactly why is it that you would know this link for people with a diaper fetish?

sounds kinda sick to me.

Thanks for the input everybody. I didn't really think about the neck support issue before. The boat in question is pretty fast, and hitting wakes might be an issue. While I don't agree that kids shouldn't be on boats, it may be jumping the gun to put a baby on a boat. As far as kids are concerned though, I've always wished that I came from a boating family that had gotten me out on boats earlier. I've really only been boating regularly since I was about 16...

Now as for all of you busting on sail boats.... :bigwhoop: :lmao: I won't start the sail/power debate. (we'll save that for a Outdoor Rec. thread) I actually can't get enough of all boats. Kayaks, canoes, sail, power, jet ski, whatever. If it floats, I'm there. My current situation is perfect. Sail boat for us, and in-laws have a powerboat that they take us out on.

Well it's true, you're onto me. :ohwell: Us "inadequate" guys need approval. :duh:

Fortunately, I'm heterosexual and would never own a blowboat. :huggy:

Besides, when I relax on a weekend, I do not want to work my ass off trying to get a boat to move. :howdy:

Our man, Airgasm seems to enjoy his making his boat move... does that mean he's better at handling his mast than you are...

I think kids should be at least 18 before you let them anywhere near a boat. And only after they've completed CPR training, can swim at least 5 miles and can perform basic lifesaving techniques. Any kid younger than that isn't going to be able to save themselves in the event of a capsize. What if you get knocked unconcious and they're on their own?

You can't be too careful.

I will tell you this. The younger you get a child out on the boat the easier it will be when they get a little older. My daughter has been on boats, jet ski's and just water wise since she was probably 1 years old. You need to just understand your limits with a child. No you shouldnt be speeding down the bay and I wouldnt venture too far off either.

My son is 5 and until probably last year did I try to put him on the ski's with us and he is not a happy camper.

Plain and simple YOU know you and your childrens limits and do what you think is best for you.

Mikey I think its getting time for a Battle Creek day mang. I havent been down that way yet this season.
