I really don't get the attraction of a sail boat. I see folks literally working their ass off to sail it. I wanna relax, not work on my weekends off.

Now in Barbados, I went out on a 70' Catamaran & loved it (had a crew). Very pleasant when the tradewinds hit the sail. These guys had an electric sail too! :lmao:

I don't get it, so you don't understand why people enjoy a "very pleasent" experince?

But seriously, its made out to be a lot more work than it really is. Most cruisers and day sailers are set up to be very easy to sail.
Also its kind of nice to put 5 gallons of gas on the boat in april, and still have 3 1/2 in October

So how much are they getting for gas dockside these days????

Now as for all of you busting on sail boats.... :bigwhoop: :lmao: I won't start the sail/power debate. (we'll save that for a Outdoor Rec. thread) I actually can't get enough of all boats. Kayaks, canoes, sail, power, jet ski, whatever. If it floats, I'm there. My current situation is perfect. Sail boat for us, and in-laws have a powerboat that they take us out on.

:yeahthat: If it floats, I'm on it.

Good idea to keep your child off a tipsy day sailor. At least until she gets into comfort zone about being in the water. If you can strap on a PFD, drop her into the water, and she wants to do it again, she's ready.

Go with the power boat or a larger stable sailboat.

BTW, racing a sailboat requires intelligence, creativity, and a lust for adventure. Cruising around in a powerboat requires, well, Fuel...

Nah...

I'd gladly ride in Mikeys boat, would even buy gas and adult beverages :yay:

No debate as far as I'm concerned (power/sail) as long as I'm on the water.

He's got a nice gofast boat. He's even let me steer it - out of necessity. :lmao:

What goes in must come out.

That's bring up another aspect of sailboats vs. powerboats.

Let see a powerboater hang it off the back the boat while sailing in 25 knots of wind, 6 foot seas, 20 degrees of heal and your legs wrapped around the stern pulpit...

Hah!
