Too much beer? I didn't think that was a valid concept...or was like some of those sub-atomic particles, that do exist but only for nanoseconds... Now "running low on beer" or "outa beer"....those are concepts I'm familiar with.

One guy, doesn't get out much, brewed I think a 10 gallon batch......... I'm thinking he needs more of my empty growlers, since I'm having a bitch of a time finding time to make a batch. I'll be happy when all this remodeling stuff is done, but it's killing my off time :)

When I ever get the new house finished, I'm going to venture in to the world of home brewing too. Got a couple friends that home brew, one of whom has a real knack for it and turns out some very impressive beer.

My brother in law down in southern Virginia makes quite an array and quantity of wines. Grape and various other berries..different styles. He can't give it away fast enough, he makes so darned much of it. And it's excellent stuff, by and large, but I'm only an occasional wine sipper so not much help.

You know, if you wanna start a tread 'Gill's fat beer gut' you can. This ones MINE :drama:

But I like this tread. It feels comfortable...good place to hang out and talk about beer. Mmmm..beer.

But fine...I'll leave now. Tirsty...going to grab a cold beer.

I'm not even gonna ask...

I took this approach...but expanded it to 12. A beer with every one...of course.

An English researcher, Fabry, has shown the stabilizing effect of eating smaller amounts more frequently. He found that if people ate one sixth of their food six times a day rather than one third of their food three times, there would be, when indicated, weight loss, reduction in serum cholesterol and an improvement in the glucose tolerance pattern.

So, aside from alcohol poisoning, does anyone know how fruit and low carb get along? I've been craving oranges and bananas, eat apples every day.

Bananas are one of the highest carb fruits that there are. I believe they want you to steer towards berries when doing low carb but if a banana is within your carb limit for the day then go for it.

Think outside the box. Most fruits go well with....eggs. I kid you not, a berry omelet is remarkably delicious. Or saute chopped apple with some onion or spinach and scramble with eggs.

What JeJeTe said... fruits in general are quite sugary. About the only fruit I eat is blueberries. Even there, 1 cup is 21 grams. I don't eat that many in a day. A medium apple has about 25g. And stay away from fruit juices. They are loaded with sugar.

On eggs... I scramble them in extra virgin coconut oil; and extremely good source of fat.

You don't need to give them up, you just need to eat them properly. Eaten alone, the fruits you mentioned will raise your blood sugar, but if you balance it out with maybe a half of a handful of nuts or some other protein, it's not as bad and evens things out. Since starting this Paleo-ish diet, I have given up all grains, which is really hard because I love my bagels, pasta, oatmeal, cereal, wraps, etc., but I'm doing it. Also given up most all dairy and I miss my daily yogurt, glass of milk, cheese, etc. There are things I won't give up. Fruit is on that list...as is beer.

Read up on Glycemic index and Glycemic loading. Good stuff.

I simply could not eat enough veggies to make up for cutting out my fruit.
