My my aren't we civil?

You mean to tell me you NEVER bring your dogs in the house?

What is the point of having a pet then?

I've known people with apartments in DC who kept Labs, Shepherds, etc. so don't tell me you can't bring your dogs inside when the weather is bad.

I never have brought them in the house. Why should I? Did you miss the burgler alarm part of my post? They are equipped with plenty of fur in the winter and I up their feed, because keeping body heat up burns extra calories.

I got dogs to let me know if someone is on my property. I had someone break a window out of my car so they could steal about $2.50 in change from the console. The investigating officer stated that he had never been to a call like this, when there was a dog on the property. So I got a dog, ty angel.

I have too much money invested in tools and toys to have some crackhead take them from me. My dogs serve a purpose. They are watch dogs. They bark in the direction of the visitor, and 12# 000 buckshot does the rest. My dogs are pets. They aren't there to fulfill some emotional need that I have. I have family and friends for that.

Domesticated animals need shelter.

They can get overheated or freeze.

They are NOT wild animals.

Mine have been outside since birth. They aren't domesticated.

They have shade in the summer and houses for protection from the weather. Hell, they spend most of the winter sleeping on the ground outside their boxes.

Walk up on my chow mix and then you can tell me how wild they are.:lmao:

Still doesn't answer the question : Why can't you bring them in the house, ever?

I'm guessing because he doesn't want to. Many people who love dogs see them as filthy animals that shouldn't be inside. just cuz you like having your dog's azz dragged across you floor, bed and pillow, doens't mean everyone does.

BTW, i let my dog in the house, but she is restricted when inside

EVEN Ceasar the dog whisperer doesn't let the dogs in his house.....

I do talk to them in a sickingly sweet falsetto whenever they see me outside, "who's the good girls, who's the good girls? you're some purty girls!" Please don't tell anyone!

If they are kept as pets, they are domesticated animals.

Yeah, larger dogs need more time outside, but NEVER bringing them in the house? Not even when the weather is bad?

Because they are protecting the property (tools and toys) by their location. They would cease to serve their purpose if I brought them in the house.

Are you really that thick, or are you just not wanting to understand my DOGS ARE PETS NOT FAMILY?

Plus buddy the blundercat and luna the loon would not think too highly of lowly dogs in the house.

My, what a bunch of assumptions.

I don't have a dog. I'm away too much to properly care for one. I have had dogs before and they did not get on furniture or make messes all over the floor.

Those farmers that don't bring their cows in the house are just cruel, aren't they? And people who make their horses sleep in the barn instead of the living room are just too cruel also, aren't they?

You know what the worst is? At the zoo, they don't bring the polar bears inside when it freezes. Isn't that awful?

Polar bears and cows are not pets.

Dogs are.

Merriam-Webster Online

1pet
Pronunciation: \ˈpet\
Function: noun

2: a domesticated animal kept for pleasure rather than utility

So are you saying that dogs are only kept for pleasure, not for utility? Is there no such thing as a working dog? A guard dog? A watch dog? A hunting dog?

Why do you put your lap dog definition of what a dog "should" be onto those who have dogs for a different purpose?
