Well thats makes me real skeered, the bottom line of the post is I was ripped off, the reason why it was taken by truck because it had no tags, and anyone with any sense common that is knows no tags =ticket, the idea was to get it inspection ready, very simple, and I will explain so a moron like yourself can understand.. I ordered a dunlap front tire, waited 5 weeks and what I got was a Jap tire, no call or explanation for the switch, however a new dunlap was on another virago next to my bike, mixup, perhaps, doubt it tho, next a call letting me know that the battery was dead, not an issue, cost me 45.00, got the bill it went to 86.00, front breaks were installed correctly, however it seems, the break/calper gods froze up the front caliper well geez 5 weeks before I was riding it up and down the street and stopping, bait and switch on that other virago? perhaps, no proof,
The was however a freebee if you want to call it that it was a faulty toggle switch which the mechanic did rewire and it actually worked. So just so we get it right here is the bill, but before I go there, remember, this virago was a vtwinn, hense why I took the bike to DVT. So here goes the bill
Front Tire ordered dunlap quoted 55 installed jap cost me 79
Rectifier 105.00 correct quoted price
front break pads - 27.00 correct price
battery quoted 45 paid 86
Air filter never quoted a price or ordered one 25
3 quarts oil 27.00 interesting, put oil into a bike yet never installed a new filter..
Now to the labor
installation of the following, air filter, toggle switch wire, rectifier, brake pads, front tire, battery and lubed cables 6 hours @49.95 - 299.00 -
putting on new rubber boots on break and clutch 1/2 hour @ 24.90
Installation of the side covers, those plastic covers that cover the battery 2 hours@49.95 99.90
installation of starter gasket and fluid 4 hours@49.95 199.80 The horseshoe pin that hold the gear n place was never reinstalled so then ingaged it would back out and not start.
labor 624.38
parts 349.66
total 974.00
Now you may not even go through these but they all came from the invoice. I will let you decide what is questionable. Of course you are an Owner of a HD, so perhaps putting out 1000 is nothing to you, and as I stated in earlier post, thier metric side of the house has nothing to do with thier Harley side of the house. DVT is the 1st to tell anyone, he knows nothing about metric, but allowing someone to work on metric that should not is just as bad.
Now as far as your little threat about Harley owners being real tight in Southern Maryland, you have no clue and I would suggest you showing up at any club function to see just how tight things are. My face is on many club websites, try by starting at
