Yes met with the owner several times from when he opened the shop till I had my last visit there. He would become very irate when I questioned him about why my bike was never running each time I came in. The owner did not work on the bike, he hired a metric mechanic for my bike which was the 1st in the shop. He fired the mechanic while my bike was still in pieces. I know the family, and this has nothing to do with the family while the daughter thinks it does, this is business. If I drove any vehicle, car, boat, bike into any shop and had to have it towed out, then there is a prb, someones ignorance in dealing with the prb doesn't make it go away, it just fuels my determination to have it corrected. Bottom line, if I was the only one, then they could say there is a personal issue, however if you heard negatives before my post, then you have to make your own decisions on where you want to take your bike. They may have good mechanics to work on Harleys, however even those in the clubs I ride with have had negative things to say. Id say learn to do your own work to save time and money, besides there are mechanics out here that will work on piece work if you take the items to them. Just ask any 1% club member where they take thier bike... bet you will be surprised...
Who in their right mind would take a Metric to a shop called Dr V-Twin?? Or was it a Yamaharley?

Is your nephew the one that was fired? Is that why he won't ever marry into the family? Is that why the daughter is bringing the family issue in it? She seems to have a lot to do with this issue? I do ride an 05 Fatboy. What club do you ride with? I wouldn't mind getting involved in a riding club since I'm new around here. By the way v-twin is an engine and there are other bikes besides Harley's that have v-twin engines. I'm not sure who wrote the quote but just wanted to state that.

I own a Harley and I don't "look down at metric bikes"....I don't look down on any bike and neither do the people that I ride with....you need to not "stereotype" Harley riders or any bike riders for that manner

AND if I am out(whether it be on my bike or in my truck), I will stop and ask if the guy/girl needs help....no matter what type of bike they have

We just a had a small one about two weeks ago.. where were you??

OK, IF we do a Forum Ride, how many miles do people want to go? Any places of interest?

I'm thinking ride 1/2 day to a point to spend an hour or two or three.. (yanno actually go someplace where there is something to do or see) then head back.. so say a Saturday or Sunday for 6 - 8 hours.. stopping every hour, hour an a 1/2..

Next year I'd like to see a bunch of us do the lighthouse ride, that was a LOT of fun, and never too many miles between stops..

So, I'm open to ideas of where to ride too.. BG just suggested the Punkin Chunkin Contest, but that would be THIS week-end..

Actually 19/32 is within a few thousanths of and inch to a 15MM, which is very common on cars/trucks. If the guy drives a Toyota, then his tools probably aren't Snap On, and his Advanced Auto 9/16 just may fit.

yeah right

I see stripped headed bolts in your future :razz:
8mm=5/16"

13mm=1/2"

19/32 = 9/16"

I actually had someone argue with me today while we were changing oil in the fleet trucks that the oil plug was not 15mm it was 19/32:smack:

19/32 does not equal 9/16 there is a 1/32 difference or .03125 inch. The difference between the 15mm and the 19/32 is that the 19/32 is .003 inch larger.

Thanks for the math lesson, but I was the one who was telling the guy that the 15mm was the proper socket for a modern GM truck.

:huggy: There's my girl. She's followed me on my 250. She's gonna help me learn to ride my new big Yamaha. She's got my ass at all times. Well, if my hubby would get out of the way.......I'll stop for any biker in trouble, whether I'm in my car or on my bike. I'll probably be in my car though.
