Yea, when edwards brought it up , it was part of the question itself. There was no mystery about the focus of the question, eventhough it didn't come out and directly mention cheney's daughter.

Lynne Cheney is right, it was a cheap and tawdry remark for Kerry to toss that out in the manner he did.

As a mother, who could blame her for feeling outraged?

If Kerry thinks it's OK to toss these kinds of comments out here like that, then I think it shows just how callous he really is.

IMO it just shows how low Kerry has gotten. He has to revert to attempting to pick on Cheney's daughter to make himself feel superior. I'm sure that she is not personally insulted that he brought it up, it's common knowledge, it's just inappropriate.

I think it was a left-handed slap at Bush during the debate, because the president supports a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriages and VP Cheney does not.

It could have been a little barb to possibly drive a wedge between Bush and Cheney, or at least make it look as such, to the viewing public.
