Again, this is a Federal issue and where are numb nuts Steny, Ben, and Chris? Where are the statements from their offices? Where are the Town Halls with their SoMD constituents?

Oh, God no! I hope this isn't the same thing happening at my home in St. Mary's County. I've been mailing my bills on time and the companies have not receiving the payments. What do you all think is going on? This has happened twice with my phone bills.

Pretty widespread problem. Consider switching to autopay for your utilities.

I called one of my state elected officials yesterday. I did bring this issue up. He assured me that he sat in Steny’s living room last week Discussing this with him. Apparently 5 - 6 checks a day Are being stolen. I’m guessing he meant 5-6 per day are being stolen AND cashed. I’m sure more are stolen each day but not being cashed because the amounts are not large enough.

Ever since my stolen checks in August, I have been mailing all of my checks in a security envelope, with no issues so far. It’s amazing to me that this scam hasn’t been shut down yet! As @CRHS89 said, we can‘t trust the mail System to get our checks where they need to be but mail in voting is secure. This sh!t pisses me the fawk off!!

Look at the scanned copies of the cashed checks via your online banking. If the checks have not even posted and were mailed a while ago, they may have been stolen but thrown away (the stealing operation apparently throws the ones they cannot easily modify the amount of, in the trash...they are not interested in the "small stuff") or they may have simply been lost. The southern MD USPS systems routinely loses a lot of mail.

Out of the 16 checks that were stolen from us (or that disappeared over the same time frame), "only" two were altered and cashed.

Any feedback from your state elected official as to what Steny may have said?

So I'll be betting people will be going up to that processing center in Waldorf demanding arrests made.
You'd think so! With the incredible number of checks being stolen you'd expect it would be super easy to catch the thieves. But no..all we get is advice from the postmaster to mail checks in regular envelopes, hand addressed. Good grief.
