Crap. They're on to me.. It's hard to mess up when you walk around the office with a file folder, looking busy, but not actually accomplishing anything.

Why do you think we give them that file folder? I was the guy who sat between the engineering team and management. Hardware was usually further along than software. so I spent more time with the software people and test. I didn't a lot of time on the manufacturing floor, only if a tech called when there was a problem. Strange enough, the typical call for help was when an assembler screwed up, not because of a failure. Then you have the people who make more mistakes than average because they are doing a disproportionate amount of the work. It's hard to mess up when you walk around the office with a file folder, looking busy, but not actually accomplishing anything.
Your attempt at justifying your comment is laughable . You could have just summed up your first statement with ( I am perfect and anyone who screws up on MY watch is worthless to me )Things don't always work as they should, that's accepted. F'ing up is when a person does something they should have known better or is just plain lazy. First rule, if in doubt, ask for help. Sort of like measuring before cutting - how many times should need you measure.
Failure to follow process is probably the biggest f up. Process is there to increase quality, reduce accidents and help maintain schedule.
Everyone is reminded of best practices and when failure to follow them results in a mishap, I am PO'd.
Best example, had a guy on the software team who always got his work very quickly. Normally with software under configuration control engineers have to wait for files to become available. We (I) found out how he was doing it when he wiped out the work of two other engineers.
Had two "super stars" on the team. Same sort of deal, Problem was, the customer would complain when they got the software drop that either the problems weren't fixed or there were new problems. When we went in to inspect their work, it couldn't be found. Because they may have put in long days over a 6 month period, they actually made things worse, particularly with the customer. Because they failed to follow best practices.
Another experienced engineer was working on something he was not familiar with, instead of asking a couple of questions, he assumed.
Erased everything.
People who are engaging in "extracurricular" activities in the office tend to make more mistakes because their attention is else where.
on the flip side Trump was not wrong about gold diggers or as they are known now a days Sugar Babies
This is pretty much my job nowadays.walk around the office with a file folder, looking busy, but not actually accomplishing anything.
No we're not. We've been on to you.Crap. They're on to me.
Say, aren't you overdue for your next performance review? No we're not. We've been on to you.
FIFYSay, aren't you looooooooooooooooooong overdue for your next performance review?
Wuht? You had one back around 1998, if I recall correctly....FIFY
Fine, but when lives are on the line, sometimes you have to demand near perfection.Your attempt at justifying your comment is laughable . You could have just summed up your first statement with ( I am perfect and anyone who screws up on MY watch is worthless to me )
Why should you be unemployed every company needs a YES MAN. Sounds like you're a lock for lifetime employment.Fine, but when lives are on the line, sometimes you have to demand near perfection.
When my continued employment is based on the profitability of my employer, damn straight I'm driving for a near perfect product the first time out.
That's why we implement continuous process improvement, increase quality, decrease lost time and hopefully a healthy bottom line.
Maybe it's why I have not been unemployed since I was 13 - except maybe during college where I was moving. Never been laid off, never been fired.
Hey, there was nothing at all wrong with the Corvair other than many American drivers; some doofus commie bastard made up a bunch of chit in order to promote himself.Ok space shuttle Challenger, Corvair car , Three mile island , The nuclear plant in Japan. You can deflect but you cannot hide Bob.
Our family had one, Corvair was a overheating oil leaking piece of crap !!! Nuff said.Hey, there was nothing at all wrong with the Corvair other than many American drivers; some doofus commie bastard made up a bunch of chit in order to promote himself.
Indeed. If there was "something wrong" with the Corvair then there is "something wrong" with the arguably most successful sports car in history..the various incarnations of the Porsche 911/930.Hey, there was nothing at all wrong with the Corvair other than many American drivers; some doofus commie bastard made up a bunch of chit in order to promote himself.
Our family had one, Corvair was a overheating oil leaking piece of crap !!! Nuff said.
But none of that made it "unsafe at any speed"; made it basically average for that time, in fact. Our family had one, Corvair was a overheating oil leaking piece of crap !!! Nuff said.
And your point ?But none of that made it "unsafe at any speed"; made it basically average for that time, in fact.
That Ralph Nader is a commie douche who made up a bunch of BS about the Corvair. And your point ?
