It's not really "new" is it? I thinks it's been there?

I believe Peggs Rd takes you to Spring Valley, I thought.

Where do you live. I swear you know more about this end than I do. I caught your Bay Ridge insight. :killingme

Yes, the first right on Pegg Rd from 235 leads to Spring Valley. That IS too far from Patuxent homes for anyone under 13y/o to ride.

Shangri La is where the Donut Connection and Mr. Tire is and Spring Valley is that loooooooong street beginning at Pegg Rd. :faint:

In addition, I don't even want to think what route he used to get there. But, I bet there were some little bad ass kids pressuring him to go that far and then they probably left him.

Anyway, glad his Spidey senses kicked in and he's safe. :flowers:

At the very back of Midway drive there used to be a path that takes you right to Spring Valley.

That little boy does need to be exploring the neighborhood like that. :jameo:

I know you can see Nicolet Park from the back street by the movie theater in winter when there are no leaves. So, I figured that might be one of his routes. I think he's been places I haven't been. I need to take a drive down Spring Valley from Pegg just to see what all it leads to. :flowers:

Does the play park type thingy place lead there too?

Yes, the park, Nicolet, does connect, and really only about a minute ride across the park will put you right into the back end of Spring Valley. Follow this link to a Google Maps satellite view. Midway Drive is the curved road on the bottom, Spring Valley apmts on top. theatre to the right, past skatepark and sprayground (blue square)

The trick here is that the parents lived on South Shangri-La. Or at least that is where the police where originally dispatched to. That is on the other side of Great Mills Rd. This 8 YO crossed Great Mills road to get over there. So that is a pretty good little haul for an 8 year old who only moved in a week ago.

But we don't know the whole situation.

The only thing I can say is that I had an 8YO he would be well aware of the fact that I would not have been happy with his crossing Great Mills. And he would have known this before the fact. But he is back home with the folks. Hopefully the folks will have a sit down without the boy present and pick a good direction to go in.

Editing here. I think I took your post out of context. I thought you were refering to the short distance mentioned earlier by the other post regarding how short a bike ride it would be for the boy. Now I see I think you were just chiming on on the later discussion. About the general proximity of Spring valley and Midway to Pegg's Road. I apologize.

Very awesome. :yay: :flowers:

I checked out a lot of stuff. I saw the Nicolet Park circle, and what appeared to be a possible path leading to the movie theaters. However that road FDR doesn't lead straight shot to Spring Valley like it looks from Pegg Rd. That's quite a bit of maneuvering. But, I probably need to go physically to be able to tell.

They will need to update this aerial view map to add the new firehouse by the library.

Nicolet Park is connected to Spring Valley and Patuxent Homes. There is just a very well worn path that take you right to the apartments. I am thinking that he may not known how to get out the park?

We should make them join the forums. I think we deserve a follow up. :tap:

I'd be spanking some 8 year old butt. :ohwell:

My issue is the the kid felt comfortable doing it. This kind of tells me the folks need to do some self evaluation. There are things my kids 'might' try but going that far without prior permission isn't one of them. I am sure there might be some behind the scenes stuff we don't know about, peer pressure or whatever.

But I know my kids know there would be severe punishment for doing that without prior approval.

back in the old day, we never went home until the street lights came on.

It's a shame most kids will never know what that's like. :bawl:
