I know, right, as if any rider worth their salt relies on drivers NOT wanting to kill them:shrug:

I don't know about other places, but with the way people drive around here relying on them to not kill you doesn't seem like a good plan.

People, I wrote ape tits back about 10 pages. Back on track, dang it!

I, for one, would prefer not to think about ape tits.

I did visit Mission Barbeque this weekend. I like to be served at the table so wasn't fond of the cafeteria style, but other than that it was great. The wet brisket melted in my mouth and the bun actually stayed intact without ripping! I'll be going back. :yay:

$100 Vrai goes this week.

Yay! You win! :yahoo: I'm going for lunch this week. And I already know I want the wet brisket because the reviews on here made it sound so yummy.

And this crap better be good or you nutters will never hear the end of it.

So is the military memorabilia part of the owner's personal collection, do you suppose, or did they get it from the same wholesaler they order from for all their other restaurants?

I was wondering about the memorabilia myself. There are patches nailed to the booths and I wonder if we can bring some in to add to their collection and make it more homey or unique to Pax. They looked awfully strategically placed, though, but then again, you've gotta start somewhere.

Well, at the risk of inciting the masses yet again, if all their restaurants look exactly the same and sell the exact same food...that would be chain concept.

Applebees and Ruby Tuesday are the same way, BUT they use local high school sports stuff.

Stopped there today for a late lunch. Got the sampler, some brisket (wet) and baby back ribs with a side of baked beans.

I thought it was really good, brisket was very tender but not falling apart when you tried to eat it, but the ribs were really strong of celery seed, kind of overpowered the other rib flavors. Price was decent for what you got.

It's different than the offering at Smokey Joes, and I'll be going back to both. I don't feel a big competition between them. I like both for different reasons.

The stuff decorating the place is local stuff, but the sports jerseys are Maryland, USNA, UAAFA, because one of the backers is with Under Armor. The flight helmet there is actually Will's grandfathers, other patches are brought in and I did ask and they would LOVE to have folks donate memorabilia from Pax. I'm giving them a P-8 patch and sticker.

Love the quotes pained on the wall.

Good call on the brisket and I did notice the celery seed on the ribs, also too much Old Bay (I know, is there such a thing?)

Carlos (Ruddy Duck) turned them on to his wholesale supplier.

Here's a thought, I wonder if they could talk to the museum about occasionally putting something on display, that might be cool. I'm sure the museum has more stuff than they have room to display, and it would raise the museums visibility a bit, perhaps.
