Lack of alarm....

Bush is at a commencment...no Civil Defense Def-Con action, elevated colors,

I suspect,...that the Def dept. knows ...
a) it won't fly
b) It will prove to be faulty
c) Our missile defense system is already zeroed in

d) Jack Bauer looks good in a Korean technician's uniform.

On the news they said it didn't look like the weather would cooperate for a test launch.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has activated its ground-based interceptor missile-defense system amid concerns over an expected North Korean missile launch, a U.S. defense official said on Tuesday.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed a Washington Times report that the Pentagon has switched the multibillion-dollar system from test mode to operational, after being in the developmental stage for years.

"It's good to be ready," the official said.

Asked whether the United States would try to shoot down a North Korean missile, Pentagon press secretary Eric Ruff declined to answer directly.

I heard yesterday [WTOP I think] that this is a long range missile capable of making it to the US...

I hope they launch it and it makes a bee line right for LA. Maybe then we'll start to take these freaks seriously instead of ignoring them or paying them off.

It took 9/11 to get the US to start taking Islamic terrorism seriously. And like 5 seconds later, half the country completely forgot about it and went back to blaming the US in general, the Republicans in particular. Business as usual.

It doesn't have that kind of range. Now Hawaii and parts of Alaska might have to worry but LA is pretty much safe.

I think Hawaii is out of range too. The article I saw just mentioned capability to reach Alaska.
