Monica Lewinsky speaks out on affair with Clinton

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Monica Lewinsky says there's no question her boss -- Bill Clinton -- "took advantage" of her when he was president.

But she says their affair was consensual and if there was any abuse involved, it came afterward, when Clinton's inner circle tried to discredit her and the president's opponents used her as a political pawn.

The former White House intern, now 40, writes about her life in the next issue of Vanity Fair magazine, out this month. In released excerpts, she says she's perhaps the first Internet era scapegoat and wants to speak out on behalf of other victims of online humiliation."

Personally I think this chick thinks more of herself than the rest of the Country. She's trying to act like she was a victim here, and that her life has been ruined by it (albeit she says it was "consensual"). If her life is ruined it's because she CHOSE to get on her knees (and whatever else they did). She knew he was married, she knew what she was doing.

He certainly wasn't elected in spite of it as there was nothing on his resume to recommend him as president other than being governor of a small Southern state. He was a known liar and had plenty of suspicious ties. Poss Perot certainly played a roll in this as well as did the performance of the bored with it all Bush 41.

Both Bill and Monica obviously are the starring roles in this, and are both at fault. I have no clue how Hilary could remain with him after that - I wouldn't have stayed with him, but then again I don't have any looming political aspirations .....

At whatever point their relationship was no longer about them, if it ever was, she had a choice to make and she made it. Do you honestly think that she was mad at him and throwing ash trays at him because he was being unfaithful, again, or, because he was risking the family business, again, for his pee pee?

What would be really disturbing would be if, knowing who Clinton was, people chose to pretend that he was not.
As for Perot, he got out when he was leading and only got back in when 41 closed the gap. That tells you he wanted 41 to lose, period. And people STILL voted for him.

I strongly disagree that it was "because of" and not "in spite of." He won with significantly under 50% of the popular vote. He won because conservative voters didn't vote for "the one who could win," but rather split their votes. Most liberals to this day deny Gennifer Flowers' story, Paula's story, the state police officers' stories, etc. The media continue to make his crap smell good to the uninformed populace.
