I took my husbands name and was excited to do it, felt like it made me a new person. Glad I did, now we have kids and I wouldn't want to have a different name than them.

That, I think, is great. Keeps your kids secure in who they are.
It bothers me when mother's drop ex's name, makes me wonder how their kids feel about it.

I don't really think it's that bad if mother's change their name when they get re-married. :shrug:

I often thought of changing the kids and my last name back to my maiden name, but the kids don't want to do that - they want to keep the last name they have (too difficult they think with school, friends, records, etc.)

So then I thought of taking back my maiden name and changing their name to include a second middle name of my maiden name and then they keep their current last name. That way I could hyphenate my maiden name with my hubby's and I'd still be linked by name to the kids.

We have, yes. I knew by our third date he was the man I was going to marry, he says he knew from our first date.

So I shouldn't tell you I had sushi and salad for lunch, then? :lol:
