59th running of Daytona 500 is only 55 days away :yahoo:

and I can't wait ! I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a good start to the new year . Hopefully everyone is looking forward to this years SOMD NASCAR season . " Commisioner" DipStick , I would like to suggest a change to our format that may provide some challenge . Each race BEFORE the HALF WAY mark , ONE (1) change can be made to a pick (NOT THE WINNING PICK ) . This would allow a chance to change a pick that had either crashed , or is running badly . In order to make this pick , WATCHING the race is important in order to know what is going on . Also when PLAY OFF time is reached in September , 10 bonus points to correctly picking CHAMPION . Maybe some other suggestions can be made for review . If no changes are made ( no big problem ) what we have right now is a good format , I was just thinking of "spicing" up our format !

Do more of the same, expect different result, etc, etc.

For every other racer, a win is considered a win. For Danica, a top 10 is considered a win.

HD20, I like your ideas! We do need some changes to keep it intersting. By allowing a change before halfway it benefits real fans who actually watch the race! I also like the championship 10 point bonus! Looking fwd to another season and hope we get a few more new players this year too!

I'm sorry, but screw your "real fans" crap. I watch the few races I can, but I have scouts EVERY Sunday and thus miss most of the races. I'm usually camping for the night races.

I've watched you guys for the past few years now and have decided that it may be time to join in the fun.

Two questions... (1) Is the 25 points for picking Danica to win still in effect, and (2) will it stay in effect after she does finally win (if ever)?

WELCOME stgislander! We haven't got a definitive answer to all of the points questions for 2016 yet, but glad to have you aboard!!

Sunday afternoon races are great. Great for a three hour nap after being at real races on Saturday nights.

Changing a pick during the race -- how about, no.

Bonus points for picking a champion? I don't know. The championship means nothing to me in NASCAR after Kyle Busch won it and after Martin Truex 15th placed his way into the Final Four.

NASCAR loves to fix things that aren't broke with playoffs and dumb restart rules and qualifying procedures, and now team charters (franchises)... instead of fixing what is broke, like the ####ty 1.5 mile-2 mile tracks that make up most of their schedule.

I don't fix what isn't broke.

Ratings are falling because "real fans" don't get Fox Sports 1 or the obscure NBC Sports channel.

"Real fans" are at the CARS Tour races in the Carolinas or will be at Dominion Raceway when it opens.

I don't even go out of my way to watch NASCAR anymore. The races suck. I put them on and take a nap. Unless it's Martinsville, which is the only track in NASCAR worth a ####. And I usually go to that race, so... :shrug:
