What is the meaning of that's neither here nor there?

In: Idioms and Slang, Definitions and Word Differences [Edit categories]

Answer:
It means that the thing in question is not relevant to the discussion; it's completely meaningless.

neither here nor there
Cliché of no consequence or meaning; irrelevant and immaterial. Whether you go to the movie or stay at home is neither here nor there. Your comment—though interesting—is neither here nor there.

1. Schrodinger's Cheshire Cat

The cat is both here and not here, while simultaneously being neither here, nor there. The cat cannot be nowhere, yet the cat is not everywhere. However, it may be anywhere, but it can only be somewhere. So, where is it?
"C'mon, just give up, already! You've been looking for that thing for hours! You might as well be looking for Schrodinger's Cheshire Cat!"

"But it has to be here. I've already looked everywhere, and I haven't found it anywhere. Perhaps if I start looking nowhere, I may end up finding it somewhere!"

This is an easy one to anyone who has ever done an account reconciliation which should be ALL of you. :tap:

If it is neither here nor there, it is, most likely in transit. If it doesn't show up here or there in the next 20 business days, it is most likely lost which means, even though it is not here nor there, it could be ANYWHERE else besides here or there.

You're welcome.

Mr. Stephen Hawking would be so very proud of you. You have reached the Event Horizon phenomenon, where space-time becomes infinitely curved.

"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!" :jameo:

Surely you jest ...
I cannot read all of this dizzy thread... but that's neither here nor there.

= doesn't matter/unimportant in the totality of the issue.

I'm surprised you know who Rod Serling was.
NOT gonna ask how old you are either.

Well...I'm older than my younger sister, but younger than my older sister. Loved the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits. I wont ask your age either, but I bet we both enjoyed the same tv programs, once we got the rabbit ears right. LOL
