Never Been There...

Winters can be bad, but originally we're from IL so you just have to be prepared. Roads aren't great but taxes are low. Our unimproved land was $75.00 this year. Cheat Lake and close to Morgantown for shopping. Wish I was there..

And black coffee, suspense novels, I could go on but back to topic, I really have loved this area. If you want culture it's not too far away. Almost everything, beaches, mountains, trails are close enough for day trips. I have found the people here on the most part to be as friendly as you want them to be.

I have been to Portland few times. How can you think of leaving Portland? Anyway..
There might be some activities that are similar to Portland area. Right off my head I was thinking something like:

• kayaking(whitewater in northern MD/WV/VA/PA or sea in the river/bay around here)
• mtn biking(near and far)
• hiking(near and far)
• camping (near and far)
• skiing (far but I prefer skiing out west)
• sunrises ( sunset are okay depend on where)
• night skiing ( yes we have them here in east coast)

I remember the dunes not far from Portland. See pic below.
I had blast time driving those dune buggy!
