FJR1300A vs FJR1300 AE... $2000 for computer controlled clutch and electronic shift transmission? Why not just put in an auto clutch, or an auto tranny?

I'd DEFINITELY opt for the FJR1300A.

Nice bike.

That's a good point for Bob. If you don't like/want the electronic shift, that opens up the Yamaha/BMW price gap to ~$3K

I think at this point there are only two things that would keep BMW R bike on the top of the list for me.. Ease of Maintenance/ Repair (factory support for at least 15 years).. and reputation for longevity.

but I'd still like to take one out for a LOOOOONG test ride..
