Yeah, but you could go every day if you so desired, instead of waiting for trash pick-up that may or may not come. :shrug:

Mine comes twice a week and I've never had a problem with pickup in 6 years other than price during the gas crunch but now I'm paying less ($22.00 per month)!

As for going everyday? isn't that even more of a waste in gas and time which again = $$$

Anyway, people can do whatever they feel works best for them, I'm just posting changes and updates so people know they have options. :buddies:

I go every couple of days with a 13 gal bag or two, it is less that 1/4 mile out of my way and maybe 2 minutes of my time to drop it off. It works for me, maybe for others too? :) :popcorn:

Hubby does the transfer station and takes big items to the dump. Weekly trash dump doesn't cost us anything plus he always stops and gets me a glazed donut. This is working perfectly for moi. I have even been known to go to the transfer station. Once or twice. Not icky or anything.

I take my own every week all by myself. Since there are only two of us, we don't generate that much trash. We also recycle, so I have to look around to fill up the trash bag before making my weekly pilgrimage.

:yahoo:I read ALL of the Post and the one that really stuck out in my mind is the one where someone called Waste Management to see if they could get a better deal. Great Advice!! I called Cindy at Waste Management told her I live in Golden Beach on Tuesday October 27th 2009. I ask her if there was anyway she could help me save money with my trash pick-up because I love waste management and my driver. He is the best and he takes EVERYTHING I put out without sending someone out to give me a quote of what it will cost to take it away(Md Refuse and New Vision gave that line) . Cindy hooked me up with $22.00 a month billed quarterly no fuel or enviromental Surcharges and I do not have to WAIT for a Trashcan! I do not have to depend on Md Refuse that works out of a home in Waldorf by the Wonder Bread store. They advertise a PO box as there business address Thats TACKY ! Where do you complain no one answered the phone yesterday I tried ALL day. New Vision turned me OFF with there HARD sales Tactics coming to my door at 9:30 cause they saw my truck in the drive. I get up at 4 a.m. 9:30 is LATE! Are you crazy New Vision. New Vision may be a good business but no one answered there either ALL day Yesterday so I have no faith in them either.

I've had them for a couple months and so far, so good. No complaints and i'm saving half of my $! :buddies:

I do too, since I have to drive by it to get anywhere. However, with the lack of evening hours, and my weekends being packed, I am looking into a trash service.

I switched to New Vision, the can and the recycle bin were delivered within two weeks and no problem with the service. Today was the first time I put out the recycle stuff and I'm not sure if it's been picked up yet.

Did you, or anybody else that used this tactic, get an unpleasant surprise this month? I called WM a few months ago and said that I could get a better rate with New Vision. They hooked me up with a lower rate - but apparently only for that quarter's bill. I just got this quarter's bill in the mail, and it was back up to the old rate. Actually, it was even above the old rate.

I'm going to call them again and remind them why they lowered my rate last quarter.

I have them. I am still waiting on my trash can. It has been 3 weeks now. I put my trash at the curb and they still come get so at least they are picking up the trash. I just wish i could get my big green trash can. GRRR!

I am not sure what company my neighbors use, it is a white truck and a magnet sticker on the driver door tooo small to read. The truck rarely ever stops to pick up their trash (they keep it in the culdesac and at any given time there is 25-50 bags of trash). They did stop this morning and pick up about 3 bags then went on their way. I am soo not impressed, we were going to get trash service but I will make sure not to go with them.

Why do you need a service if your HOA lets you pile up garbage in the cul-de-sac?

We do not have a HOA, but the people are renters so "MAYBE" I can write up a letter from the HOA concerning the trash, secretly deliver it to them and they may never be the wiser ???
