How do you get struck by a vehicle, honestly? It's 5:30 a.m., dark and you can (1) see a vehicle coming your direction and (2) hear it. I really just don't understand, unless of course the vehicle swerved onto the median or something.
Drunk?

Maybe you're paying attention to the work you're doing and hoping the vests, signs an lights will prevent idiots from running you down.

People have a tendency to drive where they're looking. That's why they slam into tucks, cops, etc on the side of the road.
They drive it into you head in driving classes to look where you want to go. In motorcycle driving classes, looking down is a big :nono:

:yeahthat: I think there is a sign, clearly marking that area it is as work zone and to slow your arse down. In fact, I'd bet my paycheck on it. I saw it yesterday. At 5:00 a.m., that place is like Potomac Speedway. :ohwell:

The biggest reason cops get struck by cars is idiots stear towards the lights, rubber necking.

That like a 1 foot drive isn't it? Shouldn't take long.
I have a feeling she was asking about traffic at that intersection, not the time it takes to make the turn off 5 onto 231. :duh:

GREAT, ANOTHER drunk driver before 6am. :duh:

It was a drunk driver that caused the big accident in Brandywine a few months ago too.

A drunk driver hit the car that had my co-workers 2 brothers and nephew in it. The co-worker called this morning at 6:30 and said he was at the hospital and told us the story. When he called they were still in surgery, he has not called back yet but when he does I will keep you all up dated.

Construction Worker Struck, Killed On Route 5

One construction worker is dead and another seriously injured after a construction vehicle struck them according to Maryland State Police.

Troopers said the accident happened Thursday about 6:30 a.m., in Bryantown.

Police quickly closed all northbound lanes of Route 5 just after Bryantown Road, in Hughesville, Md., and redirected traffic while police conducted their investigation.

That's what you get when you are getting married to a Fire Fighter... and have a scanner at work.

I'm pretty sure that accident happened at 5:30, not 6:30.

I wonder if they were struck by one of their own construction vehicles. :yikes:

Also, scanner says Rt. 5 just reopened.

Definately 5:30 'cause I was just pulling into WaWa to fill up when it came over the traffic report at 5:35 & again at 5:38. Besides, I was at work in Silver Spring at 6:35.
