Eric Adams’ illegal pot shop crackdown sparks official probe by Brad Lander as the two face off for NYC mayor
Some politicians and government analysts said the move reeks of conflict of interest now that Lander is looking to unseat Adams.
Lander’s letter — obtained by The Post — said the investigation “will review the department’s enforcement of laws barring the unlicensed retail sale of cannabis, and its fiscal impact on the City.”

Lander requested information and records related to complaints, inspections, violations, enforcement actions — including padlocking and items confiscated — and financial penalties imposed by the city.
The comptroller was particularly interested in information the sheriff’s office and other mayoral agencies have on landlords or property owners of buildings where weed was illegally sold.
“What records does the Office of the Sheriff maintain on persons or business entities that lease the location where illegal cannabis products are sold?” Lander asked.
Firms accused of illegally selling marijuana have a right to appeal the closure of their business through the city’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, or OATH.

One man is dead and another seriously wounded in a bloody and unprovoked knife attack inside a Bronx laundromat early Thursday morning — with the vicious slashing caught on shocking surveillance video.
Footage obtained by The Post shows the knife-wielding stranger casually walking up to the first victim as he sat in a chair at the all-night 303 Laundromat on East 170th Street around 2:40 a.m. and repeatedly stabbing him in the back and torso — leaving pools of blood splattered on the floor.
The killer, who was holding a bundle of clothes with one hand throughout the assault, then walks out of sight, but returns seconds later and enters through the front door.

Democrats are selling this “Equal Rights Amendment” as protecting abortion rights, which are in no way under threat in New York and aren’t really what it’s about anyway.
It’s without question the greatest bait-and-switch in Empire State history.
New York’s Constitution bans discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed or religion; Prop 1 would add new protected categories: ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes and reproductive health care.
The supposed advance in abortion rights is that it outlaws discrimination against you because you had an abortion, which is beyond boutique.
Meanwhile, the scrum of other protections adds up to, among other things, stripping parents of their rights over allowing minors to go on puberty blockers and undergo transgender surgery.

In footage captured by Goodman, he can be heard confronting the soldiers, questioning, “Is the army turning this thing into a migrant shelter? Why are you guys here? It’s a hotel. Why is the army at this hotel?”
The tension escalated when one soldier bluntly responded, “We’re here at the request of the State of New York.”
Goodman returned to the Wolcott Hotel only to find that the military personnel had vacated the premises.
The Gateway Pundit reached out to both the management of the Wolcott Hotel and the office of Governor Kathy Hochul for comment regarding the military’s presence, but as of now, no response has been provided.
Chalk up another 2024 record. The New York Times ran the story yesterday headlined, “Eric Adams Is Indicted After Federal Corruption Investigation.” Believe it or not, Adams just made history as the first sitting New York City mayor to be indicted while still in office, which admittedly is slicing it pretty thin.
Ironically, as the Times gleefully pointed out, former cop Adams, 64, was elected NYC’s Mayor running on an anti-corruption platform. One of his campaign taglines was a promise to “return swagger” to the Mayor’s office; a dig, presumably at his predecessor Bill DeBlasio, whose gait might be more accurately described as a waddle.
Somehow, Adams has swaggered himself right into a federal indictment.
The indictment is sealed, probably because most of Adam’s administration is also under investigation. Federal prosecutors promised more details will be forthcoming today. For his part, Adams claimed that he’s being set up because he fought corruption so hard:
Sooner or later, Adams must surrender for processing. As the S.S. Mayor continues taking on water, Adams’ allies are jumping ship and calling for his resignation. Yesterday, for instance, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she could “not see how Mayor Adams can continue” in his job.
Based on who else the FBI has been raiding, Adam’s indictment seems to have something to do with all those official trips he took to Turkey, which is exactly how you’d expect a New York City mayor to spend his time and taxpayer dollars during a pandemic. We’ll know more soon.
Eric Adams went to Turkey, and now he is a turkey, and is being buttered up for Thanksgiving dinner.
In closing, I’m sure Eric’s indictment has nothing to do with this:
