The speaker a 92 year old black lady, a nice lady, but her expertise is in being 92.

🔥 The feds have unsealed his indictment, and the controlled demolition of Eric Adams continued over the last two days without a hint of rescue anywhere. NBC ran a snarky story this morning headlined, “Inside Eric Adams’ ‘clumsy’ attempt to hinder foreign bribery probe.

I’m no Eric Adams fan, not least of all because of his devastating pandemic policies. Nor do I find his pushback against the Biden Migrant Invasion particularly compelling, since New York City was overrun anyway.

But the corporate media pile-on is highly suggestive.

NBC described the indictment’s allegations as best it could, but the narrative is still failing to come up with a hook. What did Adams do? Here’s how NBC framed it:

Discounts on plane tickets and hotel rooms? Like Travelocity or something? Campaign donation violations? About $10K per year over ten years? What? The NBC article mocked Adams’ spelling and compared him to Boss Tweed.

Have a look at some of the other corporate media headlines. The Atlantic, also this morning:

Or this morning’s Washington Post’s non-paywalled op-ed roundup, in which all the writers agreed:

This morning’s Business Insider compared Adams’ indictment to the stomach-turning allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs:

And from Thursday’s New York Times editorial, on behalf of the entire editorial board:

Adams pleaded ‘not guilty’ in court yesterday. He Diddyn’t do it. In an emphatic response video released last week by his office, Adams forcefully fretted that, despite receiving lots of advice to step down from far-lefties like AOC and Jerry Nadler, he wouldn’t quit.

This all reminded us of New York’s Luv Guv Andrew Cuomo, who also swore he wouldn’t quit right up until the glorious day he did quit.

CLIP: Mayor Adams blames feds, hints at illegal migrants as cause of his persecution prosecution (1:02).

What is painfully obvious at this point is Eric Adams is out, like Andrew Cuomo was out. Adams can try to hang on, but the deep state’s political machine has ten thousand ways of applying pressure. Like by organizing a media character assassination, which is exactly what we’re watching happen right now.

The betting markets are forecasting a 66% chance Adams is out before the year’s end. I’d give it 99%.

Another NYC squatting outrage: When will the City Council treat this plague as the menace it is?

The latest outrage, blessedly resolved, centers on the three-story, $4 million brownstone at 60 S. Fourth St. in South Williamsburg.

A gang of nearly two dozen young drug abusers commandeered the property last month and proceeded to terrorize locals and businesses, stealing neighbors’ packages, destroying private property, getting high on the stoop, threatening passersby and setting off late-night fireworks.

Cops finally ousted them this last week, putting all the building’s contents on the street and arresting one squatter: Ryan Grewal, 26, now charged with felony criminal mischief for damaging a motorbike outside a local shop.

The rest apparently decamped to some other building: They showed up in a van to collect their belongings, and per the new super, P.J. Ximenez: “When they were getting into that van, one of them had said they were going home, and another goes, ‘Which one?’ ”

NY Equal Rights Amendment Ballot Initiative “sets up … racial retribution and favoritism under the guise of ‘dismantling discrimination’”

Since April 2024, I have been sounding the alarm about Proposition 1 in New York, the so-called “Equal Rights Amendment.”

When I first wrote about the ERA last April it was the subject of an ongoing court challenge because the Democrats in the legislature didn’t follow the procedure for constitutional amendments set forth in the New York Constitution. The ERA was a rushed reaction to the Dobbs abortion decision, supposedly to protect abortion rights in New York (which were not in any way threatened by the decision), but Democrats used that as cover to load up the constitutional amendment with a bevy of protected classes, such as gender identity. which has spurred a vigorous opposition movement based on the threat to parental rights, girls and women’s spaces, and girls sports.

But I was focused on the other sneaky measure in the proposed amendment, in a completely new paragraph B, allowing for discrimination done in the name of dismantling discrimination. In our Equal Protection Projects statement opposing the ERA, we wrote, in part:

It is alarming that Paragraph B has not received any public attention for its possibly disastrous impact on the cause of nondiscrimination, as already embodied in the NY State Constitution (before the amendment) and numerous state and local laws. E.g. NY Human Rights Law and NYC Human Rights Law.
Under Paragraph B, discrimination becomes a NY State constitutional right provided the discrimination is “designed to prevent or dismantle discrimination.” This embeds what is commonly referred to as “reverse discrimination” into the NY State Constitution. Discrimination against certain groups in order to protect other groups would be exempt from the sweeping protections of the current constitution and Paragraph A of the Amendment. Arguably, this would mean that the NY and NYC Human Rights Laws would be preempted merely by claiming the motivation was to “dismantle discrimination.”
The exemption under Paragraph B would severely damage efforts at fighting discrimination. It would create a loophole allowing persons engaging in objectively discriminatory programs and practices to claim that the motivation was to “dismantle discrimination.” This is the language of Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and would create a DEI exception to the anti-discrimination laws in NY State. Such ideologies have no place in the NY Constitution, and are contrary to our tradition of protecting individuals from invidious discrimination based on immutable characteristics.

Councilwoman Posts Video of a Subway Car 'At the Mercy of the Deranged'

We thought crime was down, but … it was September that New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the city would be adding a few Roomba-like robots to patrol the subway. As we reported on Friday, the subway has just rolled out prototypes of the body scanners that they hope to have up and running within 90 days. This comes after Gov. Kathy Hochul dispatched the New York National Guard to the subways to search bags.

The media likes to swoop in and do damage control whenever there's news of a shooting on a subway trail. A writer for The Atlantic stood up for the subway, saying that just about any subway rider will tell you being part of a community is what people love best. There's a shared love for the "infectious energy of dancers who bring showtime to cars and platforms across the city."

As RedState reported, Penny initially subdued Neely after the latter began to act erratically, including lunging at and threatening women and children on the train. Neely would go on to perish and Penny was arrested and charged with manslaughter by infamous Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

At the time, the facts of the case were already called into question after a video taken on the scene showed Neely still breathing for a significant period after the altercation. Further, Penny put Neely in the "recovery position," suggesting he had no intent to cause permanent harm. At the time, I asked whether Neely was still breathing when first responders arrived.

Secondly, you can see Neely’s chest still moving (and his leg even appearing to move) in the video at multiple points, which again suggests that Penny let him go with the expectation that he was subdued, not mortally wounded. Was Neely still breathing when the paramedics got there?

That question has now been answered thanks to newly released bodycam footage. Not only was Neely breathing when the police arrived, but they refused to give him mouth-to-mouth, instead sticking him with Narcan assuming a drug overdose was involved.

Two police officers confirmed that Neely still had a pulse when they arrived.
'I got a pulse,' one said. A second police officer confirmed that he too felt a pulse.
Neely was unconscious, lying on the subway car floor.
When asked how Neely ended up there, Penny replied: 'I put him out.'
Despite initially detecting a pulse, they issued Narcan - the drug used to reverse opioid overdoses - to Neely - and started CPR at 2.38pm.

An NYPD police sergeant, who testified on the first day, said that responding officers did not give Neely mouth-to-mouth because "he seemed like a drug user" who might give them "hepatitis."

Among witnesses on the first day of evidence was an NYPD Sergeant who testified that none of his team performed mouth-to-mouth on Neely because he was a 'drug user'.
'He seemed to be a drug user.. he was an apparent drug user. He was very dirty. I didn’t want them to get… hepatitis.
'If he did wake up he would have been vomiting. I didn’t want my officers to do that.
'He was filthy. He looked like a homeless individual. You have to protect your officer.
'I wouldn’t want my officer to get sick if the person throws up,' he said.

Would Neely be alive today if the police had taken immediate action to save his life? Did the shot of Narcan contribute to his death? Questions like those are going to complicate the prosecution's attempt to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Penny was directly responsible for Neely's death.
