Obama's National Speech in School

This president deserves no respect!! Respect has to be EARNED!!!

What has he done besides:

Hang out with known terrorists
Prays with an America hating racist for 20 years (remember GOD DAMN AMERICA??)
Hides where he was actually born
Is running this country into sh!t creek
Lies through his teeth
Bows to Arabs who hate Americans

The list goes on...... See post 77

Don't get me wrong, I do not support everything the President is doing. But, I do respect the President. I believe that he is genuinely trying to help our country, and that he genuinely cares about our country. I'm not democratic or republican, because I don't agree with everything on either party.

I agree respect is earned, name something in his past history that he has done that has helped this country? Name something he has done as our current President that has helped this country. His background and associations have done nothing but breed hard left hate and contempt for America with Socialist, Marxist ideology. Forget Obama, you should take some time to get to know his friend and associations. A lot is known about a person based on who he surrounds himself with! :coffee:

So, have any of you read the speech yet? I have. I can guarantee a bunch of you who like to hide behind your online personas will not admit you were wrong. I think it's great that he, like Reagan (though not at a school) and Bush 41, have spoken with school children about staying in school and personal responsibility. If we, as parents, did a better job raising our kids with personal responsibility instead of brainwashing them to fit whatever political agenda WE have for ourselves, our country may be in a better place.

I read the speech. My reply is the same as I posted in the thread over in the Politics forum:

The speech seems designed to reach a certain demographic of student.

I think the president wants to be all things to all people - including School Nurse.

Oh, and he brought up the Indonesia thing. If he didn't attend American schools, didn't he have to be a citizen of Indonesia in order to attend their schools?

From my own personal experience, just because my "friends" were questionable, didn't mean I was. I do agree, most people believe the "guilt with association" term.

I'm curious to know, if when Bush's ratings were going really low, did you and all the republicans ever voice a dislike as passionately about what he was doing? I'm not trying to debate, or fight. I'm an adult who would like to have an adult conversation.

I know I did, because I don't blindly follow any party, I'll vote for a Republican, Independent, Democrat if I believed they are the best person for the job. I was disappointed about a lot of things Bush did and the republicans choice of John McCain at the top of our ticket, I like some of the conservative values of Palin but still believed she would not have been a front runner Yet, however she was more qualified than Obama IMO at the time and the MSM never questioned it. Obama got soft balled into office and to date most of his speeches are stacked decks and rarely is he asked a hard question.

As a matter of fact Obama's experience is so limited he needs 32 Czars, I would have gladly voted for Condoleezza Rice for president and truly believe in looks, speech, and intelligence she would have mopped the floor with Obama, unfortunately she chose to hang up her hat on politics. Last, Obama's speech seems OK NOW, what people are missing is the uproar of his initial rhetoric about reading up on Obama, writing letters to yourself about Obama, what inspired you about Obama's speech, etc. etc. I'm sure if the uproar never happened around the country our students would be listening to a whole different speech. If no one including the White House had any problems with Obama's original intent, why were all the recommended school activities during the speech changed??? Hmmmmmmm

That's easy to check out around here - just do a search of the posts pre-Dec. 2008 when you first came to the forums.

There are a lot of people who were not for everything Bush did. And it wasn't just when his ratings were low.

But was everyone as harsh and voicing their hate as they do for Obama? I don't want to spend that much time to check it out, (i'm interested, just not THAT interested! lol, too busy playing Scrabble Rack) just thought I'd ask who ever was replying to me.

 You asked Chernmax if he and all the other republicans...
...I'm one of all the other Republicans.

There was plenty of discontent with Bush's policies.

Actually, I was asking him personally to answer. However, I do appreciate your response, but you also told me to go do a search for previous threads.

Chernmax, I don't know if you personally respond like an adult or not. All I know is that there are so many on here that don't, I can't remember who does or doesn't. I did not intend to offend!

What part of my response do you not feel is of a personal nature, I clearly answered your question based on my own knowledge, experience, and perspective. :coffee:

I completely feel that you answered my question. I was replying to Bann about her response to me. Isn't that apparent with the quote that is above my statement?

I saw how you put on post 114 that you answered as an adult, that is why I mentioned to you personally on post 115.
Edit: I was speaking about your previous posts, prior to tonight's.

That's because if you act like an adult and are respectful, I'll treat you like an adult. I deal with many people on different levels based on their respectfulness or rhetoric. It's not personal it's the internet...

Charles County?

Sorry if it's been asked & answered, but I can't find it here or on their website (other than a link to the speech). Does anyone know if Charles County will be showing the speech today?

No, they will not. Their digital technician says they are not set up to air in digital format.
