When someone else pulls out the chair for you, it's hard to sit down/slide in just right.

Ah, my friend and I have practiced this and have it down to an art. He was a bit put out that I ignored his chivalry, so we had a discussion and demonstration session.

I would be happy to show you how this can be gracefully accomplished (now that I know).

PS, I also now know how to allow a man to help me with my coat without getting all tangled up.

Did any of you notice when we went to sit down, he actually reminded me to let him get my chair? "*ahem* Do not touch that chair, missy."

Just wait until he gets sloppy drunk and tries to push in your stool.

:yay: I noticed there was some talk about the chair, but I missed the actual exchange.

This syndrome comes from doing everything yourself for so long, you just get used to it and don't think anything about it. At least for me, it did.

Another one I had a problem with was waiting for him to open the car door. Before I got in and before I got out of the car. I'm still not good at that one.

I have to quick step it to "beat" my wife to the car door to open it for her. I am fairly sure she likes it. Now getting around to open her car door. . .I have lay down the law:

*while still inside the car*
HER: *opens her car door*
ME: Don't go anywhere!
HER: ...but...
ME: DON'T go anywhere!
HER: *not moving* [silence]
ME: *gets out and walks around to her door - shuts it*
ME: *opens her door* [with big smile]

I had a "date" night with my little girl a little while back. She almost got into the car before I told her to stop - and I opened it for her.

She asked why. I said "one day, you may meet a nice man, and he will want to make you feel special".

She paused for a second and said "But I AM special!".

She's *four*.
