I noticed there was some talk about the chair, but I missed the actual exchange. This syndrome comes from doing everything yourself for so long, you just get used to it and don't think anything about it. At least for me, it did.

I have to quick step it to "beat" my wife to the car door to open it for her. I am fairly sure she likes it. Now getting around to open her car door. . .I have lay down the law:

HER: *opens her car door*
ME: Don't go anywhere!
HER: ...but...
ME: DON'T go anywhere!
HER: *not moving* [silence]
ME: *gets out and walks around to her door - shuts it*

I had a "date" night with my little girl a little while back. She almost got into the car before I told her to stop - and I opened it for her.
She asked why. I said "one day, you may meet a nice man, and he will want to make you feel special".
