Like the picture Kyle posted sans the helmet. Two stripes running horizontally in gold or you can do it like the picture and have one white and one gold.
Would you split the gold stripes with white?

If you don't want to paint all the walls dark colors, I like the way this room was done with the stripes on the top near the ceiling:

So paint all the walls gold, on one wall sponge on the burgundy?

If you're going with different colored walls, I would say yes. Usually the accent wall is the one opposite the door.

I am painting Boy's room as a surprise when he comes home. Burgundy and gold/Redskins colors.

Now I have thought about burgundy with a gold accent wall.

Bottom half Burgundy, top gold.

Walls burgundy, ceiling gold.

How about painting two walls one color, and the other two the other color. Then out lining (*making a box effect*) With the oppsite color.

So two walls Red with it outlined gold. Two walls gold with it outlined Red.

I like Kyle's idea along with your idea to paint the gold and white lines wider. I wouldn't go with gold walls myself. I think the darker walls with the stripes and the white around the windows/door will set the room off well.

And when you're done, I have some rooms that need to be painted...:yay:

FYI, shades of red paint are the hardest to paint with. You will need several coats of paint and I will suggest a gray primer.

Paint the enitre wall burgundy with a 1 1/2 foot yellow stripe about 6 inches below the ceiling. Leave the ceiling white. Put up white chair rail and paint the windows white.

I was going to suggest tinting the primer half formula of the burgandy....

When we lived in Frederick, I painted the boy's room 5 different colors (5 walls) and I painted the trim on each wall the color of the wall to its left. By FAR the most annoying wall was the red wall. It took 4 or 5 coats of paint to get it right. I HIGHLY recommend priming the walls first, and tint the primer burgundy.

Oh, I like that the best or just one wall in the colors, the others white. It is SO much easier to change accessories than to paint over dark colors.

:yeahthat: And dark colors are a biatch to repaint. I say stick with the white walls, and paint your own border in the colors.

Of course, it'd be far more manly if the colors were blue and silver.

I'm about to embark on a storage solution in DQ's room myself. But I'll refrain from hijacking your thread. Good luck and let's see some pics when it's done. :yay:
