But the USN built it....Based on the 1st pic, Seafarers filled in a lot of wetlands to build, even a small creek? Can we somehow get some reparations for that? All the crabs and bluefish they killed - the horror!!
We seem to be having some issues recently with a group of "tweens with sticky fingers... she should get a motion light because the same "tweens go door to door looking to see who has Ring doorbells or security cams .... maybe she can get anything that lights up red and place it in her window...I know any elderly woman who lives there. Two weeks ago someone went into her gated yard and stole her stone carriage statue holding a lantern. It had been there for 35 years. Really scared her.
Just did quick look for 'fake ring doorbell'. Came up with many REAL camera doorbells for under $10. If you're not tech savvy, just wire it so it lights up.We seem to be having some issues recently with a group of "tweens with sticky fingers... she should get a motion light because the same "tweens go door to door looking to see who has Ring doorbells or security cams .... maybe she can get anything that lights up red and place it in her window...

Here's a wider shot of the airfield and tanks.Nice photo showing the old Steuart Petroleum air strip.
An old friend of mine used that airstrip routinely.
Is that platform and those storage tanks still being used?An old friend of mine used that airstrip routinely.
I have climbed to stick everyone of those tanks 500 times. Used a leaf blower on the airstrip and layed out a zillion feet of oil boom to dry and fold back up on on trailers..
I was there shortly 15? Years ago, the fuel platform to fill local #2 and I believe at one time JP fuels for pax hadn't been used in years. For your consideration ...

The tanker terminal was re-activated briefly a few years ago...during the oil glut when prices dropped to zero. They off-loaded and stored oil for someone who brought their tankers back to retrieve it after prices went back up. But no regular use of the terminal at all..and I'm pretty sure their pipeline has been de-activated too. Have not heard anything about Sunoco's plans for the facility. All the properties that could be separated from the original Steuart Petroleum holdings has long since been split off and sold (or donated to the county, in the case of the Lighthouse Road property and buildings)For your consideration ...
