And the story that tells what really got peoples nickers in a twist.

Robin Guyther (author of some of that) long since retired...and ironically, perhaps, volunteers at the museum that is now housed by the former Steuart Petroleum buildings.

I think that dude Paul something or other who opened The Landing (or whatever he called it) in Charlotte Hall had a place on that strip. I did some painting on the inside for him.
Perpich. That would’ve been in the 80s.

I still lived in Colton's Point back then.
I would’ve been an Mechanicsville back then. I can’t believe how many places I’ve bounced around this county. Mechanicsville, Charlotte Hall, Mechanicsville, California, Leonardtown, Mechanicsville,… But never seventh district. That place was too exclusive.

A good part of them folks on this strip are the Chevy Chase DC crew and I recall them being behind the "Keep Piney Point Piney. NO Refinery." bumper stickers back in the day. A real gaggle of activists they were...
Interesting, I irrigated four of five of those homes a few years back. The home owners and I discussed many things over the days of installation. Not once was I told they were part of the Chevy Chase crew.
As a Bethesda kid that married into that old Chevy Chase crowd, when they opted to hit the sand. They bought at Dewey, Bethany and Rehoboth.
If they did much in St Marys it was The Seafood Festival..

Chevy Chase is a fairly large area, and I am certain your observations don’t represent all CC residents. I know at least one family that had a house on that strip at PP AND a house in Bethany. Lots of money up in that area.
