I see your point, but I am not going to sit on a pedestal just because I have the knowledge and tools to start a non-franchise biz. These people are entrepreneurs and local folks that take a leap just like you and I. When they fail, they don't have "big brother" helping them out. They just flat out fail.

No, because big brother helps them immensely with global advertising and marketing, not to mention proven layout and sales techniques. You have to really work hard to screw up a franchise. Or not work hard, as the case may be.

Like I said, I am not anti-chain nor am I anti-big box - I am simply pro-small business. When I have the choice, I typically like to give my money to local people and not some huge corporate chain. Couldn't care less what you do with your money.

Well, I think we should just remove all of the box stores and franchises. Then we'll have no where for anyone to work, and we'll have to make do until someone gets creative enough to sell us what we need.

I'm sorry you're in such a bitchy mood today. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Again, I agree. Trust me, I will shop at Lusby Hardware before I go to a Lowe's or Home Depot (which aren't obviously franchise owned) You have to figure that franchised owned stores are only roughly giving back 5-10% to the corporate chain. They bleed like we do! That's my only point.

This thread has frightened my so much I'm going to start feeding my dogs Old Roy and let them grow dreds rather than groom them.
