PG County Officer Killer Found Dead in Jail Cell

And rightly so.

A police officer, who is charged with upholding and defending the law, instead decides to break said law and issue his own version of "Justice" is a greater story.

Your though process is warped! A police officer was murdered. That is the bigger story, not some loser who got killed in jail. Although it wasn't right that this idiot died this way, I don't really give a rat's azz. Why aren't we reading stories about how "Outraged" the family of the officer is? Why isn't there an NAAWP making statements about the officer? What a screwed up mentality. And for those who base their opinion on what they read in the media, You're stupid! They don't care about reporting all of the facts. THey just want to sell papers and get you to watch.

Yeah he is... he or she is a hero...

that is the only thing these thugs understand
The person who killed the accused is not a hero. He/She just trampled all over the Constitution. I passed a post office this morning and there still was an American flag flying which tells me there's a certain process that must take place once someone is arrested. Being killed while in police custody is not part of that process. If you are in someone's custody, your security and safety are their responsibility.

The Prince George's County chapter of the NAACP called for a full investigation into the practices at the jail.

"He stayed in the custody of the Department of Corrections way too long," said June White-Dillard of the Prince George's County NAACP. "He should have been transferred immediately. Obviously, his civil rights have been violated."

Yep, almost 12 hours is "way too long" for an alleged cop killer. He should have been released on his own recognizance 15 minutes after he got to jail, or this would have never happened. :sarcasm:

About as sure as everyone is that a guard killed him.
Okay, the guy was supposedly in isolation, supposedly had a pre-lockup physical ruling him okay, supposedly only a few COs had access, supposedly no cameras in that area (hmm, wonder why?) but I guess you think it was supposedly a naturally caused death. This stinks and stinks bad, what's next, another inmate did it?

Would this not be even worse if it was discovered that one of the other suspects in custody had actually been the driver who ran over the officer?

Seriously, I hope they discover that this was NOT done by a corrections or police officer. Otherwise this story will completely overshadow the other and turn an alleged cop killer into some kind of martyr.

I don't see where racism plays a part in this personally. The jail is 90% African American, the correctional officers are probably mainly African American and the county government is mainly African American. Just my thought.

So the dead convict was denied a fair trial, yet you have already convicted a correctional officer if not all 7 of them.

I'm not a doctor, nor a medical examiner but i do know I don't know all the facts.

No, but hopefully they will be caught, charged, and live long enough to face their accusers, be tried by a jury of their peers, found guilty, sentenced to fry, exhaust their appeals, then be disposed of like the trash they are.

Wouldn't it be great if the thug had the same right to a fair trial? You know, the fair trial that's guaranteed by our constitution?

You may not see it, but the NAACP has already chimed in on this. It doesn't matter what race the person was who is responsible for the inmate's death, the inmate was African-American, the dead police officer was white and the "system" is run by "the man" who wants to keep the black man down :sarcasm:

It has already been made out to be a race thing or else the NAACP wouldn't have commented.

Maybe I am wrong, but my husband told me that one reason they are looking into civil rights violations is because of "due process not being followed" Is this right or wrong?

Absolutely true. His civil rights were not violated because of his race. They were violated because he was denied a fair trial before getting the execution he deserved.
