Pit Bull Attack!!!!!!

Jameo

What?!
I just spoke with the vet. Surgery has been completed. Vet said she's lucky to be alive. The injuries are "incredible" according to the vet. The bites to her neck and check came millimeters from her jugular vein. She said there is no way a smaller dog or child would have survived this attack, and she's putting it into writing to get something done about this dog.

The bites to her legs are full thickness to the muscle. She'll be coming home this evening on antibiotics and drainage tubes as well as two pain medications.

I'll post pics when I get her home.

To you and your pup :huggy:

I knew exactly what you two were referring to. I agree with Bailey 100%. I would blow the dog away the second it stepped into my yard too. She had every right to do so.

Now you two read slower k?

Thanks Baja, Im glad someone agrees. Now even though this dog needs to be killed, I could never do it. I didnt like what I did, but I felt it was justified

See post 95. However, FYI the dog was picked up this morning for the 10 day quarantine. How bout I call you in say.................. 9 days? Got plans?

You said you were going to come take care of my yard. It'll needing some work in about 9 days.

May 8th, about 9 days from today I was thinking about having a little get together with some friends. Maybe a shoot out, I mean cookout.

Friday, May 8th, is two days before Mother's Day. Guess what I want for Mother's Day this year? Hard to believe it's only 9 days away before Mother's Day weekend.

:huggy:...........that B. pear tree has been reported.

Somdgirl, Im so happy your dog will be ok. If you feel you need to do something, all I can say is dig deep down inside of yourself and you will find the strength. Or you could let Baja do it for you

O-K...then I can shoot the chi that comes in my yard, right? No difference. It's an agressive animal. :neener:

That's right. You heard me. For the second time, my big dog has been attacked in MY yard by the same vicious pit bull. The first time nearly killed her, and this time she has no less than 6-8 puncture wounds that require a vets attention again.

This is not the even the second time this pit has attacked. It previously killed two cats in the neighborhood, and my dog and I barely escaped another attack. I managed to get inside and shut the door just as the dogs head slammed into my door, again on MY property.

What pizzes me off is animal control has yet to kill this dog! I'm fuming mad, and that's an understatement.

The owner refused to pay the nearly 1,000 vet bill last time, but this time she won't be so lucky. I'll be headed to Leonardtown tomorrow to file my lawsuit if she doesn't whip out her check book or credit card TOMORROW for the bills.

I'm so mad right now, it's a miracle I'm not in sitting in St. Mary's finest tonight with three hots and a cot.

So for all you pit bull lovers out there, make no mistake, there WILL be one less pit bull in Callaway. That is all.

You need to call and talk to Hoover - we have had the same 3 dogs come into our yard and attack out GSD 4x... if we would have shot them on our property, we could have been charged - yes, even on our property unless one of us (humans) were in direct danger. Now, it is tough to prove that was the case, I could easily say my son was being chased as well and then I would have legal grounds to kill everyone of them.

Now if I was home, I would have shot them, but probably would have gotten charged for it.

We had to take them to small claims court to get reimbursed.

Bottom line, they are now not allowed off their property unless they are going to the vets. Even for a walk, they cannot even leave the house - period, or they are euthenized (sp?).

Sad thing, they are nice dogs to us - they just do not get along with our dog... it is not the breed of dog, just the dogs do not get along.

I understand your frustration, believe me I do as we have fought this fight for 5 years... give Hoover a call, she can give you the story - bring your lunch because it is long.

Off subject, anyone know what the waiting period is to obtain a gun? I have no criminal record, never been arrested.

An aggressive earth worm can't hurt you fool.... :lmao:

I'd punt the chi (or any other small animal) but anything than can inflict great bodily harm gets the lead.

I'm on your side - I'm still not seeing how two wrongs made a right on this.

Just because you agree w/ her doesnt mean it is right. The first time the dog came in her yard and attacked her animal... yes she could have shot it.

But to just pick up the animal (basically steal the dog) and take it some where, shoot it, & bury it because she was THINKING she might wanna another cat and was scared that the animal MIGHT attack that cat is wrong.

Thats why we loaded that dog into the car and went to a gravel pit. The dog just dissapeared. Now this was a friendly dog, except to a cat. It was always death for the cat.

So if I applied today or tomorrow, I could be a hand gun owner in say 9 days? Kool.

Yes, but buy a shotgun as aiming will be a lot better in the heat of the moment... use slugs, not shot or you will risk hitting your dog. :yay:

Even though I gave the legal response earlier, I keep a loaded .22 ready to go in the closet - I have 18 shots to get it right. :yay: The shotgun is right around the corner ready to go.

If I get charged, I have been "coached" on what to say. :coffee:

:nono: Maryland law says otherwise, believe me I know this one... read my previous response.

When I was in HS a black lab attacked me and my friend riding our bikes. It bit her on the leg and chased us all the way home. My father killed the dog with one shot gun blast. Cops were gonna charge him, but we managed to talk our way out of the charge. That was many moons ago though.
