Plane Crash into Potomac

THAT I have seen. What I have NOT seen, is that THIS ACCIDENT was the result of a DEI error.
People can still make mistakes and NOT be DEI hires.
Did you also see that normal staffing is 30 controllers and there were only 19 and one of them was allowed to leave moments prior to the incident? That made that one controller handle the additional workload that they "normally" would not.

And I am pretty sure I haven't said anything about the specific persons involved and whether they were DEI or not. My ire is that the error was systemic in nature where the agency was more invested in showing their diversity over actually getting the best candidate for the position which can be attributed to staffing failures.

Is there any evidence of this though?

It’s really really difficult and challenging work, it’s stressful and the overnight shifts are horrible.

The FAA were doing those recruiting videos because not enough people were applying, the problem is the same that the military is dealing with, that’s why most new recruits are minorities. White people aren’t having kids like they used to so there aren’t enough of the usual candidates.

Do you know a competent young white man who can’t find a job? They all are employed.

The family withholding the name of their relative is only putting the suspicion on that relative IMO.
Certainly shortly that name will be announced.. There is no way that name can be withheld.
Everyone at the base where the helicopter took off from knows who was flying, the person will have a funeral relatives and friend s attending will know why that person is being buried.

IMO the family made a mistake in withholding the name.

Saw that - there was one ATC covering both aircraft when there should have been two.

I do NOT know if the understaffing was due to DEI hiring processes. Maybe it was. I have not seen that.

That I know - what, there was a guy there in charge whose previous job was - store manager? But he ticked off the right box.

I have no doubt - I just - I think like a computer or math person - I need to know WHAT CAUSES it, not what might have caused it.
I am fairly certain there's no conspiracy of intentional crashing - it would appear everyone did things by the book but may have misunderstood what was being said.

Really, do you have any experience in the field?
Yes, I’ve worked many in person overnight shifts, not Air Traffic, but rotating shift work, it’s hell and it doesn’t fit well for most people who have families.

Even with Trump’s hiring freeze the FAA was allowed to advertise 145 postions, if you think these jobs will only be filled by a woman or minority you’re insane, they are looking for anyone remotely qualified.

It’s hard work, something the geriatrics in this forum are long since finished with.

So the real answer is NO. You are phucking clueless as to what it takes to do the job so you cannot speak anything other than what you pull from your ass. Now crawl back under your rock and go away, and if you do come back get anther usedID, you are an embarrassment to Chopticon.

You losers hate the truth

Keep listening to Trump then, everything is fine and dandy. Lots of straight white men will be taking all these roles soon.

You folks are painting yourself into a corner, basically if a tragedy or accident happens and a white straight man is involved then it a very sad incident. Otherwise it’s incompetence, how can anyone but a white straight man then be trusted to do anything?

You are mental. Last I looked Joe Biden is a straight white man and we bust on him all the time. Adam Schiff. Eric Swalwell. JD Pritzger. Etc etc.

Your cult leaders feed you bullshit, so that's what you go foraging for.

perhaps army flight school should be same curriculum as the air force's with same academic standards?
Years ago I saw army maintenance instructions and they were literally written in comic book format.

When it includes people from your community, even if you didn't know them, it hits home a little more. It makes it more real and relevant to your life, than a far-off tragedy.
Maybe for you, but for me, unless they're friends or family, no.

I watched the PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines) jet crash in North Park, a community in San Diego, back in 1978, I think it was. My location was a 10 minute drive from where the plane went down. I had some concerns because friends lived in the general area, but once I knew they were safe, I really had no more interest in the situation.

That's just one example.

And check out what happened the day before:

Sure looks like a training issue with the Army pilots operating along this corridor, IMO.

Holy mother of dogs!

It's like watching a video game where PAT11 tries to hit 1, 2, 3 aircraft, and misses every time! You had 1, 2 CAs going off on both the passenger jets AND the helicopter, but on the 3rd passenger, the CA only went off AFTER it and the helicopter passed. "By the way dude, you almost hit that helo." And PAT11's CA never did go off. What in the mf'ing bloody hell is going on!?

Jealous?

Every one of us has known the value of hard work; most of us in the military, in private industry as blue collar workers, and in the public sector.

Can you say the same thing?

See, and that's me. An average of 9000 people die in this country every single day - that's 6 people every minute - and I really can't mourn every one of them. The big story with this crash is *how* they died and why, not that they died.

 Flying out of DCA mid Feb, should I be worried??
I hope not!! :huggy:

But, I never fly out of there, it's too darn congested for me driving and finding my way around there. UGH. I typically go to BWI, because it's what I know. When the Things were young, I was always driving up there by myself, so I've gotten to know it so well, and how to get around easily, etc. Hell, I've always gone by myself. :lmao: I think there might have been 1 or 2 times I've ever been dropped off and picked up at the airport in 20 years.

Couldn't get a direct flight from BWI or I would have used it.
