Forget the % of abortions that are the result of the rape. If you believe abortion is wrong, then its wrong. The fetus is no different during a rape pregnancy than it is during a non-rape one.
The "innocent" is exactly the same in both cases.

Good thinking.

I'd have to agree with that.

You'd be "murdering a child" for something they didn't do... Can't imagine anything more hypocritical than that.

atleast with in vitro fertilization people are attempting to get pregnant.when you have an abortion you are purposely killing your child.

well if you -know- that a child will be killed during the in vitro process ....

so it's ok to kill a few 'children' if one lives?

an intresting stance.

Yep, murders happen every day. We don't change that law.

As I said before, I'm not so hard nosed I can't see rape for what it is. It takes away the whole "personal responsibility" portion of my stance, because she was not responsible for being raped. While I do believe a life is a life, I can't for the life of me imagine myself telling my daughter she'd have to carry to full term a rape baby. And, since those account for significantly less than 1% of abortions, I would lower my morals to allow that as an option for a rape victim. Call me a hypocrit for having two stances on the same argument (as Itallion Scallion already implied), but I do have those two stances for the same argument.

Hypocrit.

Being of child bearing age I am friends with a lot of people who have children, and most of them planned and most of us have had at least one (if not more miscarriages).
Ask anyone in this group how many children they have? 99% will say the # of children they birthed either vaginal via c-section. PERIOD. No one in this group includes miscarriages in their # of children. And we are all different in terms of abortion opinions.

So no peeing on a stick does not mean you have a child. There is so much more to it than that.

:exactly:

its funny that abortion is wrong, unless it is response to something that negatively impacts the pro-lifer's life.

then, in their particular situation, its OK....

OMG I wish I could find this webpage I read once of excuses pro-lifers gave for their abortion. It was ALWAYS 'well my abortion is different for such and such':blahblah:

except in vitro because as long as one lives it's ok if a few die .... even if you know it will happen and do it on purpose.

Awesome, another rush to ASSumption.

If it happens, it happens. I may not want kids, but if it happens, it's meant to be. God does have a plan for us.

gods plan for us is to go forth and multiply...
it would be morally wrong to have sex for any other reason

THE PRO-CHOICE ACTION NETWORK

Some pro-lifer abortion stories

I think this one is the best:
We have anti-choice women in for abortions all the time. Many of them are just naive and ignorant until they find themselves with an unwanted pregnancy. Many of them are not malicious. They just haven't given it the proper amount of thought until it completely affects them. They can be judgmental about their friends, family, and other women. Then suddenly they become pregnant. Suddenly they see the truth. That it should only be their own choice. Unfortunately, many also think that somehow they are different than everyone else and they deserve to have an abortion, while no one else does." (Physician, Washington State)
