Planned Parenthood

I don't understand...
The health clinic is NOT planned parenthood...is it?

I am for both, as can be seen in this thread, but I didn't realize they were one in the same...why can you not go to the health clinic for free BC?
The health clinic is sending me to planned parent hood. They have OB/GYNs on staff and give out birth control.

I've seen a lot of "Motivational Speakers" and heard them expound on a wide variety of subjects. One of the most unusual I've ever experienced was a man who survived being aborted. His mother had him aborted in the third trimester but he lived thru the procedure and since he did the mother agreed to letting him be put up for adoption if he lived to leave the hospital. His speech is slow and he walks with a limp but he is married and has children. Absolutely amazed me.

Okay, Mr. Born Again. The fact is most teenagers/adults do have sex. They probably scrump in the bathroom or in the parking lot while you are having your classes. Hello!!!
I DID say "IF".

She will be 20 this December. I cringe at the thought of her having to make a decision of such a magnitude.
Planned Parenthood is there for her to hopefully prevent such a decision ever having to be made.
Why not tell her that the "choice" is whether to have sex or not? Why don't you be a good mommy and teach her that it is a life inside of her from conception and warn her about the consequences of sex at her age in today's world? Oh I'm sure her boy toy(s) will be honest virgins however...GEEZZZ! Forgive me for being concerned about kids! I've been branded as hateful & judgmental here.
Because it is not legally a life until it is born. Once it is born it has the same rights as everyone else.
According to man's laws but not God's.

I did, but she was honest enough to come to me and tell me she was leaving her classes and having sex in the woods across the highway. I took her straight to Planned Parenthood. As protective as I was it didn't matter, but she trusted me enough to tell me.

He was, and I had taught her well. They used condoms the first time.

True, but you are past the age of needing to worry about it. I figure your stallion days are long over. Worry about the youth you have now professed a desire to "look" over and realize abstinence does not work.

Planned Parenthood pamphlets at your meetings could benefit the youth and society. :yay:

Please provide the scripture that says Abortion is Murder, or that an embryo should have the same rights as an 18 year old.
Of course Bob, you will find a way to say that these verses don't say "that abortion is murder" but clearly they imply it.
(Exodus 20 v 13): "You shall not murder". (Murder is the taking of an innocent life).
(Deuteronomy 30 v 19 & 20):
"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life & death, blessings & curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice and hold fast to him".
(Psalm 139 v 13-16):
"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully & wonderfully made...My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
(Jeremiah 1 v 5):
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..."
You're welcome!

Those days are over for now but not for long I hope.:lmao:
Abstinence does work when it is practiced but, I agree, it isn't practiced.
And, no thanks, we'll use the Bible. Even though they'll still do it, they remember what we told them when pregnancy or STD's happen. The difference is that I can't be there for them as a parent can so, if something happens to them, isn't my fault. Sure, I'm sad when it does, but my conscience is clear.

So what would god define a misscarriage? Why would he create life only to destroy it? And god's will is not an acceptable answer to me.
A miscarriage is different. It's still a life, He still cares about it and He knew it would happen. God wouldn't look at it as an abortion unless the mother deliberately tried to miscarry so she would not have to have it. And no, I won''t say it was God's will but it's still a life. It's the same reason that God allows babies to be born handicapped or addicted. People make choices and God doesn't always intervene but He always cares.
To answer your second question, "why would he create life only to destroy it", He doesn't always approve of those creating it. That's like saying He created sin so He can punish us. He allows life to be created but sometimes He takes it back for their protection. In Isaiah 57 v 1 He says that "...sometimes the good people are taken away to be spared from evil...".

Wenchy,

I would like to say thank you. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I am without insurance at the current moment, and need to get birth control (*for more reasons then just sex*). And it looks like I will need to go to Planned Parent Hood, but I was very worried that if I walked in there it would just be an abortion clinic. And I didn't want people to look at me like I had done something horribly wrong.

So again Thank you.

You're welcome.

I haven't read all the posts yet so I hope I'm not repeating, but I've always found it ironic that the kind of people that go to a "planned parenthood" clinics are those from unplanned circumstances.

You need to read more on Margaret Sanger, and not get all of your hatred from anti-abortionists.. Read her ENTIRE speeches, her ENTIRE books. 90% of what people use to portray her as a racist are litle quotes, little things she said, but they never talk about the entire speech, or who she was talking to.

Margaret Sanger was as much a racist as you are.

Disparaging someones name, memory and their place in history to bolster your argument or your position seems somewhat childish. Especially since they are long dead and can't come back and defend themselves. Why not call the current leader(s) of Planned Parenthood Racists??

Fishing for context that makes her referenced words acceptable is an attempt to distract from the fact that Margaret Sanger was a racist, period. No amount of maneuvering can negate an oft repeated theme in her opinions.
I'd say nice try, but it wasn't.

Most people are racist or they stereotype in some manner.
