Pork Chop- agressive boxer at tricounty

My daugther is familar with boxers and will be taking care of him. The only thing I am worried about is that we do have one dog..so I am wondering if we could introduce the two a little at a time for them to get used to each other.

I see your point about the shuffling but it has got ot be better than being in a shelter...maybe...

Is there a way to bring your dog in first to meet the other at the shelter? I have no idea I never adpoted from tri before

Our group is picking him tonight and going back to jwwwb for a while.
You can contact us about becoming a foster at 240-925-0628 or 301-904-0653. katmc@secondhoperescue.org.

thanks

Okay, well, my dog passed his temperament test, too, then proceeded to bite the neighbor kids and go after other animals. Just because a dog passes a test in a controlled environment doesn't mean he's a safe dog.

Sorry.

:yeahthat:

and you all can piss and moan all you want.

the previous owner obviosly had more than one problem with the dog. if you want to adopt him knowing full well that he is agressive towards other dogs, then that is great. but handing him off again to someone who is unsuspecting is just wrong.

If you aren't familiar with Boxers and their high energy levels, not to mention their aggressive traits (that Boxer owners think of as normal) then don't get the dog - he doesn't deserve to be shuffled to another home that doesn't work out.

Not true. One of my females and male are big baby's. All they want to do is lick you. Wouldn't hurt a fly.

My other :diva: I'm working with dog aggresion and she is doing very well.

They are very active and do have alot of energy. But so! Don't get one if you don't have the time to take them out or a place to let them run. It's not their fault they have this energy.

How do you fkg know what Jwwwbs private life is about to speculate she got rid of PC because of some problem with the dog. I know her k? I know what happened and why she had to get rid of PC!

LISTEN CAREFULLY AZZHAT!

IT WASN'T BECAUSE SHE HAD ISSUES NOR DID ANYONE ELSE WITH PC!

Did you hear me? Like I said, you really need to STFU and go find another thread to start ####.

Or if you don't like stinky farts, slobber, lots of kisses and a wiggle.

i never said she did, but OBVIOUSLY the person who dropped the dog off at the pound did. They detailed their issues in the thread catt started to bust their balls about this.....

as for jwwb's problems, she hasn't said what they were, i dont really care, it was her dog to get rid of. but you hypocrits usually would be all over someone who had let a dog go for "personal reasons" and then a month later was saying that there life was once again in a place where they could give it a home.

Like i said, i dont know her story nor do i care to, but it doesn't sound like she is any different than the other people you all blast for coming on here and lokking for a home for their dog because they have problems in their personal lives.

Hopefully PorkChop will find another home, but in BayKat and Mike's defense, I am sure his aggressive behavior was frightening. I have a male JRT that has shown aggression towards other dogs, not all dogs, but certain ones have walked by and my dog has frightened the neighbors because he went into attack stance. This is a behavior that began upon moving here to this home and something we had not experience before and to make matters worse, one of the neighbors across the street threatened to put a bullet in my dog's head and that upset me (and others in the neighborhood) very much. I have had to take extra precautions and practice behavioral methods because of that in lieu of getting rid of him. It only takes a second to have your dog dart out the door and go after somebody, and perhaps, Bay and Mike felt this was a behavior problem that was hidden from them and something they didn't want to pass onto another person. I considered getting rid of my male JRT because of the problems because unless you've experienced it, it is very frightening and seemed unprovoked. When dogs go after another dog, they can get to the point where they are clueless to others around them and sink their teeth into somebody just trying to break the fight up.

It is no secret that Catt and I have had our disagreements over the years, but when it comes to animals, I do not believe that she would purposely withhold information about an animal's aggressive behavior and if aggressive behavior was an issue prior, jwwb wouldn't have put up with that for 2 years. Boxers, like JRT's, are commonly taken to shelters because they are handfuls and not for everyone. And perhaps PorkChop's aggressive behavior was brought on by a change in surroundings and activity level.

This is what I'm talking about with Boxer people vs. the rest of the world. I do not consider a dog who licks you without invitation to be a "good dog". That, in my world, is a bad dog who needs to learn some manners.

When they come bounding up and knock you down in an attempt to be friendly, that is not a good dog. That is an aggressive dog who hasn't been trained properly.

I used to have a client who had this galoot of a Boxer that he kept in his shop. I used to dread going to see him because this damn dog would jump all over me. He used to let him jump all over the customers, too, so it's no surprise that he is no longer in business.

I'll stick with cats, thanks.

And there you have it :yay:

But a Boxer shouldn't be farmed out to someone who isn't expecting that. Let them get a different dog.

When people talk about aggressive dogs, they're talking about dogs that are being mean. I would not consider the dog you just described to be aggressive...obnoxious/hyper, mabye, but not aggressive.

When a dog runs at you and starts jumping all over you, that is aggressive behavior. When they start gnawing on your hands, that is aggressive behavior. When they corner you and start barking, that is aggressive behavior.

Sorry. If they person they're mauling isn't enjoying it, then the dog is being aggressive.
