Unfortunately the time has come. Sadie has not handled the move well at all. I have made an appointment for today at 6:30.

12/26 I lost my old girl of 16 yrs., I bought her remains home; laid her on the ground for the "pack's" sake and mine. They sniffed, two licked her face and one actually laid down next to her. I buried her under her favorite Dogwood tree.
I wish things were better for you and your family. :huggy:

Well looks like it's time this week. The beagle with Lymphoma is going downhill. Although the vet said it was not a painful type of cancer, the swelling of the lymph nodes must be painful to some extent.

He's scheduled for Thursday to be put down, but it may be sooner depending on how he is doing.

He's such a happy boy all the time, even NOW - that's what makes it so hard. That tail just keeps wagging .... this is going to be a really hard week for us all. :bawl:

Not sure how the other dog is going to respond. She's always had the beagle as her buddy. She kisses him all the time.

What a handsome dog...he looks like my old gal Lil. :huggy:

So sorry, guy. We had to put both our beloved dogs down this year, 6 mos. apart. I can say, I know exactly how you feel. You are doing the right thing. Hang in there.

Sorry for your loss.

A few years ago, we had to put our dog down of 15 years. I remember getting him when I was 5 years old, and we grew up together. It's never easy.

Now, our oldest dog just had to have exploratory surgery because he wasn't eating. It ended upo being a blockage in his stomach, and not cancer like they though. Hopefully he'll be around a few more years.

So sorry for you and your family. We had to do the same this past September. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I was also relieved for him.

Good friend of mine took her dog through the drive thru at McDonald's before going to the vet.

Got him 2 double cheeseburgers.
