Pandora said:The kids do not shop at Abercrombie and Fitch in middle school; they shop at Hot Topic and you can catch good sales there!
Kids today should be glad Sears Surplus isn't still around. They don't have it as bad as many of us did when we were younger, that is for sure!
Nickel said:Hollister isn't as expensive as Abercrombie. I'd put them at American Eagle prices.
I remember those.greyhound said:Hey....remember Sears Tough Skins jeans. The knees were so hard the jeans could stand up by themselves!!!!!!

Shoot, when I was growing up, we had walmart (no target) and that was it. If we wanted something else, we had to buy it ourselves. He's in middle school...he's going to grow out of it. I'd tell him once he got a job he could buy his clothes wherever he wants. He probably has NO idea how much things cost.
Pete said:Buy him Target clothes and tell him it is a lesson in disappointment because life isn't a no limit credit card and with that attitude he will likely face disappointment every day.
cdsulhoff said:That's the truth!!!! He is growing up on me and I am not liking it one bit..
Today, I heard a girlie scream that came from the Bathroom and it was him. He found some hair on his privates. LOL My youngest was like " Let me see". So when he saw ( Nosey) he told his brother " You have Man Balls". I think I almost died when I heard that.. I tell you KIDS!!!
cattitude said:I did. And I have trouble understanding what you write, most of it doesn't make sense. You veered off of your own topic from your original post. You were the one who started talking about being glad he took an interest in his "presences" and equated that with being clean, etc.
nachomama said:That's what my parents did. When I was in high school, and we went school shopping, they'd buy us x amount of Levi's. If I wanted Jordache or Sergios, they'd pay what the cost of Levi's were, and I had to come up with the difference.
When I was in elementary/middle school, most of my clothes came from Sears Surplus.
cdsulhoff said:Take it for what you want. I don't have the energy to argue with you today.
cattitude said:My kids got a certain amount and how they spent it was their choice. My oldest was all about name brand, still is, but he's 30 now. The younger one always wanted more bang for his buck (still does). Funny...they both look nice and don't stink.
MLGTS08 said:When I was in middle school my mom would give me $75 to spend at any store, and we would get the rest of my clothes at JC Penney Kohls etc. I think that was pretty fair...
cdsulhoff said:My parents gave me $500 for clothes and said that is all you are getting spend it wisely.
Cowgirl said:$500 every year? Good grief!!!! My parents spent half that on 3 kids!!!!
This is why some kids murder their parents in their sleep. TMIcdsulhoff said:Today, I heard a girlie scream that came from the Bathroom and it was him. He found some hair on his privates.
