Old Navy and Gap Kids sell jeans that have an elastic band that runs inside the waist of the jean. It can be pulled and attached to buttons on the inside. It's nice because the jeans don't have that little kid stretch waist look. My daughter wore these until she grew into a 00. Now she shops for jeans at 579.

We've tried that and her jeans sag around her backside and crotch and bunch together. Not very comfortable, or at least for her they were not.

I'm having a very difficult time finding jeans for girl this year. She has long, long legs, so everything she tries on is short. If she goes up a size, they're too big in the waist. :ohwell:

My girls were the same way, Chasey. I always had the best luck finding "Slims" at JC Penney. One of mine is 15 and wears a 00 and another is 18 and wears a 1.

The jeans at JC Penny are too short for her. I'm telling you, this year has been difficult finding jeans! I've gone everywhere, she's tried on a gazillion and none of them are to her liking. :ohwell:

Liking...meaning ones that fit her well, she likes them, etc.

My daughter is very slim and tall (12 years old -- 5'6"). We had problems when she was around 10yo as well. I found that if I bought the next size up in SLIMS, it was long enough, but fit her waist well enough. I think I had to go to Kohls. I cannot remember the exact brand of jeans. Luckyily, she fits in things much better now.

My 10 y/o girl is a string bean but seems to do well in Levis in slims. I get alot of her jeans in like new condition from thrift stores for about $2 a pair and buy the next size up from what she is wearing if I see any. Even if she ends up only wearing them a short time/not wearing half the pairs I buy I'm still paying less than even Wal-Mart.

Sometimes, you can find high end clothing on ebay for a fraction of the price at the store. It's all about being in the right place at the right time, too, like knowing when the store is having sales. If you decide to order ANYTHING online, search google for promotional/discount codes to redeem at checkout, and you can save some money that way, or at least get free shipping. That's my $0.02.

What the hell does this mean? You have to wear expensive clothes to be clean and look nice? :ohwell:

After being raised on a farm and not having alot of money growing up, being brought yard sale clothes..My kids will wear what they pick out at walmart or target or they better find a place that will hire them from ages 10 down to 6. I think their college funds are more important then $60 pairs of jeans and such.

I don't buy clothes that I cannot try on and I wouldn't buy something that one of the girls couldn't try on, either. If it didn't fit or they didn't like it, I'd have to send it back, wait for a refund, etc. :ohwell:

It doesn't take that long to get your money back from them. A week max?

I think we're gonna' go to Annapolis tomorrow so I may hit up the mall. :yay:
I'm heading to Prime Outlets in Queenstown on Saturday. I know the Old Navy there is selling EVERYTHING in the store 50% off until Sept. 1. :yay:

My daughter went by there a week and half ago on the way home from Rehobeth and said many of the stores are having sales until Sept. 1. I guess for back to school shopping.
