bull shiat...You're not a sub. I'm a sub and it would be impossible for you to ever help those children out in the classroom with the way you're spelling. So don't give us substitutes a bad reputation ya fake!elisa said:i been sub teaching for over a year now, i have taught in all 3 middle schools in st marys county, esperanza( great mills) is the best of the bunch, avoid spring ridge(lex park).
and piney point elementary is also very nice, ive taught at green holly(okay, high facilities for the special ed if need that) and not sure about high schools but some great tech ed classes have been incorporated for all with pre college programs ( college type programs in nursing and criminal justice to give a head start )in this area. so hope that helps a lil but the areas around here are all like one stop light away from each other so youd have to ask what the schools are for the area your in. every stop light off the main road-- 235 is a new town from the base down to mechanisville
base is awesome though and the water circling round this ccounty is awesome. ive lived her about 2 years, and fishing and crabing is amazing here. so i hope you have a good transfer to the area.

Great Mills High, also known as Ghetto Mills, has too many fights and the teachers "just don't give a sh!t about anyone but the smart kids"....have to agree with MysticalMom....avoid it like the plague
Leonardtown High(don't think there is a nickname?).....drama, drama, drama....emotionally draining for a teenager
Chopticon High....also known as Cow pie high....farmers, not too much drama, not too much fighting, a lot of "rich kids"[/QUOTE]
Do you really think that Chopticon has more "rich kids" than Leonardtown High? Take a drive through the student parking lot of Leonardtown. The kids are driving better cars than most adults who work for a living...

There's actually a place online that grades neighborhoods (realtors aren't allowed to) based on education, crime rate, etc..mercsburgh said:Relocating into the area. In your opinion which schools are the best and should I base my move on them. I have three children all of school age elementary, middle and soon to be high school. I'm looking at either Southern Calvert County or St. Mary's. I'm finding out that I can get more house in the Lexington Park area but have heard negative things about the area schools. Park Hall, Spring Ridge and Great Mills VS Appeal, Mill Creek and Patuxent High. Is it worth the extra commute? Are Calvert schools better than St. Mary's? Please help and give me your thoughts on what I should do.
Most teachers aren't that bright, that's why they majored in education in college.Rachii said:bull shiat...You're not a sub. You skipped your English class quite often, huh? :shrug:01mds10 said:i graduated from great mills high in '04.. i personally did not like it. the principal, dr. lymas- she is extremely racist. if your not in the african american ascent, well your screwed. as with all the teachers, there are a few that are great teachers, but alot of them just favor the smart kids as stated above.
there is a number of fights(as with any highschool i would imagine), number of bomb threats, after all that is what great mills is known for.
i don't ahve any other reviews for the other schools in the area, due to i never attended any school except for great mills. i heard ryken is an alright school as far as the education plan is..
i also attended experanza middle and i liked that school. much better then spring ridge
Nah, that's how they teach it at great millsBadGirl said:You skipped your English class quite often, huh?
Not when I went there; of course, I went to GMHS a gazillion years ago. It's ironic that even though I *DID* skip my classes a lot, I still manage to spell reasonably well and to implement the proper tools of grammar and sentence structure.Tina2001aniT said:Nah, that's how they teach it at great mills![]()

Is it Dr. Lymas' fault that you don't know how to use capital letters?01mds10 said:i graduated from great mills high in '04.. i personally did not like it. the principal, dr. lymas- she is extremely racist. if your not in the african american ascent, well your screwed. as with all the teachers, there are a few that are great teachers, but alot of them just favor the smart kids as stated above.

Tina2001aniT said:I would have to say, and I think Baswm would be with me on this, the BEST elementary school in Calvert is St. Leonard Elementary, I just can not rave enough about the school, the staff and the students. The school districting in Calvert is tricky though almost like someone followed a stray dog to make the boundaries, but if you have any choice I would DEFINATELY look into St. Leonard Elementary.
