Nanjemoy's schools suck, the kids are bad, and the teachers do absolutely nothing to discipline them. I know this from experience.

I suggest North, or in North Carolina.....Moorestown, NC. Went and stalked the schools.....excellent test scores. Went to Ohio....again excellent test scores and low crime rate. What opportunities for children? I have a 5 year old daughter and am a very involved parent. I went to the movies in Calvert this weekend WILL NOT do that again, we will be renting and viewing at home. I was shocked to hear how some of the parents spoke to their children, using the F-word. What is that. I went to Calvert because of my last experience in Waldorf, which I must say was far worse than Calvert. I guess it is everywhere but this area, with the metro, is just horrific.

I never heard of Moorestown, NC, did you mean Mooresville?

Mt Hope is one of the better schools in Charles County....at least now it is. You should check out the test scores. My sister is a volunteer there and at Mitchell, She is now pulling her kids out of Mitchell and they will be attending Mt. Hope. hmmmmm when was your experience?

4 years ago. And it was from a teaching standpoint, not a parent standpoint.

you taught there, at what age, you are only 24?...must have been last year, and yes I have heard the principal is pretty bad but then again, they all are as because of the limits pressed by the parents. A good paddling never hurt me!

Mt. Hope is one of the better elementary schools but they still end up in the sucky middle and high schools. (usually General Smallwood and Lackey)

You are right!!!! They are horrible. My stepson went to McDonough and it was just awful - parents point of view. I walked in their one day and it was like a zoo. Kids screaming and cussing.....its everywhere. We didn't do that when I went to school....hello paddle and suspended then grounded at home. What a shame that this area has gotten like this....Haven't you guys heard of so many people "wanting out" ??

I don't know how to send a link. Read the front page of the Washington Post on March 25th. Don't get too content anywhere in Southern Maryland with the population on the rise, so will the crime....really sad, what a nice are Southern Maryland was until all the growth.

I haven't heard of so many people "wanting out" but that's just me. :shrug: Everywhere you go has it's bad areas.
